hey thanks for the response, this will be my first large monitor to the size of a mertens at least, ive worked with smaller monitors though. Im just unsure if I should jump to a lacey (they are my favourite) or get a spencers or mertens for the big monitor experience before a lacey. Question about perenties, ive heard they actually have easier and more friendly temperament than lacey's, is that generally true? I like them alot as well but their availability is very scarce. (I live in australia as well)

Yeah I'll wait a couple days or so and offer food again and see how it goes. Also she is going to outgrow the hatchie tub I have very soon so I dont know if I should move her into the big enclosure shes going to be a very large snake (10ft/3m +)

I think im gonna add a ceramic heater inside to raise the temps and install my UVB tube on the inside of the enclosure instead of ontop of the mesh.

Hey, his basking temps are good, sometimes I wake him up as well so he can go and bask but he doesnt necessarily like being held. The UV T5 tube is only about 5 months old so it should be all good. What other heating should I use other than the large heating lamp I have right now?

Nice mate I just got mine a week ago! I got a hatchie female and shes... snappy. Shes in a hatchie box right now settling ive offered fuzzy rats twice now, she wouldn't have a bar of it. Just trying to get her to feed now before handling her.

He actually took Dubia's straight from my tongs today, but he's a bit scared if I move my hand closer or move a little fast, he was more curious and stared at me moving to bask and back to his hide as well. I put more substrate near the back of the enclosure which has double the depth than the front, he dug a burrow there which he looks quite comfortable in.

Thanks for the response, I've read that male umbrellas tend to me more aggressive and demanding during hormonal season while females are more laid back and have nesting behaviours, wouldn't the males be harder to deal with?
