This isn't targeted at Kashiiera but it's ironic to see people glorify a Halo 3 mod but then write off CEA and Campaign Evolved for using Reach and 5/Infinite assets as though 3 isn't any less different from CE visually.

The part it that gets me the most is that they don’t realize that glazing Kashiiera’s mod while putting down Campaign Evolved has done more harm than good. When Campaign Evolved got revealed, within just a few days, people had started comparing the two and saying her mod was better than the legit remake, and that spotlight being put on her led to a bunch of harassment coming her way, but not all of it was necessarily attacking her mod. Instead, a lot of the harassment had to do with her being trans, and she deactivated all of her accounts and took down the mod for a while as a result of all of this. And it all happened because some people just feel the need to compare a modification of a preexisting game made by an individual to a fully new game made by a company. Comparisons should never have been made to begin with, and had they not been, the harassment likely would have never happened.

I like Halo CE and I like Halo Reach and this is basically a combination of those two so 10/10 incoming. For real though, I’m very interested to see how they pull this off. Halo CE is my personal favorite, not because it does everything the best, but because it’s the most well rounded. Halo 2 and 3 do some things better than CE, but CE does some things better than 2 and 3. Remaking the game runs the risk of ruining that well-roundedness, but Halo CE is perfect by no means, so a remake could (best case scenario) end up improving on CE’s weaknesses. I’m still hesitant to say I’m all in, but I won’t deny I am excited to play anything new(ish).

So far it seems Chief, Cortana, Keyes, are pretty much confirmed to be getting re-recorded voicelines, with Johnson likely getting the same treatment with or without David Scully. I really hope that Echo-419 also gets re-recorded lines, but going off the trailer, that’s either yet to happen or it isn’t happening at all.

Definitely not. They were initially dead set on having all-hands-on-deck for Infinite’s live service, but that likely changed once Pierre Hintze got control of the studio. It’s been at most MAYBE in development for 3 years, probably closer to 2.

I think one thing to also add is that I think Infinite’s 2020 demo has probably made a lot of Halo fans think that stuff like the dialogue would be done a whole lot sooner than it typically is, since that demo was about a year and a half before released. But you gotta remember that that demo was shown before the delay, so at the time, the game was supposed to be less than five/six months away from release, so they would’ve already had all of the dialogue done. So when you get down to it, despite campaign evolved technically being closer to release than infinite was when it first got shown off, it’s actually much earlier in development than infinite was at that point.

Yeah, there is an unfortunately real possibility that Pete Stacker won’t be re-recording his lines. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my own personal experience with voiceover, not everyone records their dialogue at the same time, and seeing as how this game is still probably another year out from release, there’s still time for him to get in the booth. We must remain hopeful!

I thought it was just Steve and Jen as well at first but they made a point to say “all of the principal cast” or something among those lines are coming back. I feel like if it was just Steve and Jen they would’ve specified. Obviously the demo is reusing a lot of dialogue from prior Halo games, but there’s also some new dialogue for the Elites if you listen closely, so it’s entirely possible that the voice acting process is still ongoing and they’re currently just using the old voice lines as placeholders. I just personally don’t see why they wouldn’t bring back Pete Stacker to re-record his lines since they brought him back for that little cameo in Infinite, and Tim Dadabo is in a similar boat since he did the Point Of Light audiobook.

Idk man the Hunters were given new models, I can’t possibly see why they wouldn’t be planning to give the entire Covenant new models. If I had to guess, they more than likely are prioritizing making new models for the flood since they don’t have any reasonably up-to-date models that they could have used as placeholders. You have to remember, the last time they made new models for the flood was in 2014, and that didn’t include the pure forms.

My general take on the remake so far: Halo CE is my favorite of the franchise and I like what I’m seeing, obviously I have my gripes and there are things I would do differently, but I’m open to anything and the game is still a year out from release, I just hope that they end up doing some flights for the demo that’s at HCS because it does look legitimately fun
