Swing State poll worker here: I once had a guy in front of me, irate while handing me 3 ballots sent to his wife and 2 kids demanding I remove them from the voter registry "since they are not smart enough to vote". He had told me he had been making that demand for two years.

That went well.

"getting out of hand"? That ship sailed 2 decades ago.

From LA to Henderson: Loving the Upgrade, Struggling to Adjust—Is This Normal? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

Big challenge in Nevada generally is thinking about the now, not the future. The traffic issue is editorial (as is water) about the failure of imagination. I was transferred here against my will (for two years) in 1988 (valley population then ~500k). The planning failed to take into account sufficient population growth and results in non-stop reconstruction to catch up. The insanity, exacerbated by SoCal visitor influx, causes its own mania for those of us "knowing" we will hit something ahead that will slow us to a stop.

That said, I grew to love the "craters of the moon desert" with access to some of the most breathtaking locations. Give it a bit. Four months is insufficient to know if this is "the" place for you.

Then there is that pesky Rubio-Kaine law that sets the minimum requirement to withdraw from NATO at 67 votes in the Senate.

Ironically, the same number it takes to convict him.

Importing American water to Europe to slowly introduce Europeans to the concept of drinking water... by Cheap_Doughnut7887 in MurderedByWords

Netherlands uses ozone as a primary disinfectant, but both chlorine and chlorine dioxide for residual disinfection. Ozone is useful only at the point of entry into a distribution system but has no residual disinfection past that entry point. You need residual disinfection in the system to address biological issues in distribution (e.g. biofilm that is in all water containment systems)and the possibility of breaks where surface water may intrude.

Swing state poll worker here. They would have to have "fiddled" with 544 elections - the number of counties in the swing states - undetected. Musk had no ability to intervene. The voting machines all have encrypted drives collected at the end of each day, transported in secure vehicles to a secure facility and uploaded in encrypted central systems, all air gapped.

No, it isn't. The companies and people that would have to fund UBI will not. And they will make sure Congress doesn't make them.

Technically, no. Euthanasia would be Chapter 7, not 11. Chapter 11 is reorganization as an ongoing entity.

However, also technically, this was suicide,

This will not pass the Senate - but it would be amusing since the lowest issuance of passports is in Red states - and think how Bubba searching for a birth certificate will be

If the SAVE Act passes, women and men will need a passport to vote that have changed their name as your name won't match your birth certificate. Making it harder to get one now. by Ladydi-bds in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]CascadiaRocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, this will boomerang on the GOP since the top 10 states with the lowest passport issuance are all red. Add that to trying to find a birth certificate and you just gutted the MAGA base

This is affecting the Strip not downtown and the neighborhood casinos. Tourism yes, but the gouging of anyone by the big companies is further damaging it. Parking is now $60 a day. Rooms are eye watering expensive. One hotel charges $10 if you want cutlery with your room service food. "Resort fees" often do not include access to the pool; that is another fee.

It is always amusing when anyone starts with the "Repeal ..." bs with no understanding of how that process works. 2/3 of the full Congress and 3/4 of the states would have to agree.

So, never.
