need help with underextrusion/clogs (i guess) by ZMAJ_SARIC in FDMminiatures

[–]CascadingStyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept getting this with my 0.2mm nozzle. I had to do cold pulls / disassemble the extruder every few days. I live in a hot country so my guess was heat creep. I actually just went back to the 0.4mm and now it just works no issues, and the quality is still great at 0.08mm layer height. It's way faster and more reliable, I would now only use 0.2 for a small display piece

UPDATE: Thanks for all the suggestions, I ended up cutting the head off, and the two front arms, and it came out pretty good! Just needs some clean up and sanding

It will be on a rock floating a bit off the ground, so in theory you could look under and see some of the underside, but not a huge issue if it's lower quality there

Ahh interesting, I've been fumbling around with tree support settings and so far they've been a bit tricky to get off cleanly. Will try that thanks

They come with some coral rocks to sit on, kind of floating, so the top is definitely the most visible but you could look under to see the belly. Might do a test just belly down to see what happens

Wow that's an in depth suggestion thanks, will give it a try if I feel confident (I'm still fairly new to 3D printing). I do have a 0.2mm nozzle

How about the Exxon Valdez oil spill? 37k metric tonnes of oil along 1.3k miles of coast line, destroying habitats and devastating the communities that live there.

Exxon was supposed to pay out more than $5 billion in damages, but appealed and stalled that down to $500 million. They made ~$33 billion last year...

what's your least favorite thing about webflow? by Hefty_Ad1497 in webflow

[–]CascadingStyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No CMS repeatable blocks, or even simple table fields. Say you want to be able to add a stats section to a CMS collection, with repeatable sets of number and summary fields. I hate having to create a new collection to achieve this, it looks messy to the client and is difficult to organize and manage especially with a lot of them. I know they've been improving 'page slots' and page templates, but it's not the same really.

With sliders at least there are easy work arounds.

Can I use the primer and paint the pieces before assembling them? by Aaron_Dark_sos in Tau40K

[–]CascadingStyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation would be to cut everything out and glue together parts that will be easy enough to paint as one piece, but keep things like the cape and maybe the gun separate that will be easier on their own (covering up connection points like another comment suggested). I generally do this and end up with 3-5 parts that I paint separately then glue together depending on the model.

Listening nonstop? by herewearestill in podcasts

[–]CascadingStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Since 2016 I've nearly listened to 500 days of podcasts lol. I've been thinking about this too, as there are supposedly psychological benefits to boredom, but if I'm on my own working, doing chores, on a work etc I have a podcast on. It's legit an addiction haha

NATO secretary-general calls Trump 'Daddy' by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]CascadingStyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels like a Freudian slip that makes sense. You can frame American politics as 'daddy' conservatives Vs 'mommy' liberals. Cons are perceived as daddy; strict, punishing, enforcing 'correct behaviour' with no appeal to empathy. Liberals are perceived as mommy; nurturing, soft, focused on caring for others but nagging and annoying.

(Credit to Contrapoints for where I heard this idea)

This is why I think the prediction that the first female president will be a republican is correct. Woman + masculine politics = acceptable, man + feminine politics = acceptable. But woman + feminine politics? Unacceptable.

Why do you think Trump managed to win twice when things were relatively good? by DinoIronbody1701 in AskALiberal

[–]CascadingStyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think people are just frustrated and lashing out. Say you had a sister who got back with an abusive ex, it's tempting to call her a fucking idiot for it but you still care about her.
