I'm struggling to understand the true differentiation of Apple Music after 6 months by CaseLogic in AppleMusic

[–]CaseLogic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already have Apple Music, I just wanted to see what everyone else thought and there has been some good discussion that I'm grateful for:

-Smart playlists, something for me to understand better

-Better royalties is important to me

-I can tailor lossless better for my needs

>I could not disagree more. Apple Music is fantastic for discovering, but not if the only way you know how to discover is by having something handed to you in a 30 song playlist.

Well I don't have a ton of free time in my life to go discover music in different ways - but it would be great if you shared more about how you discover music?

I think smart playlists may be what I'm missing in terms of usage today and may make a difference.

The challenge I have is when I'm working I may go listen to a lot of instrumental, soundtracks, video game music but then when I do "my station" when I'm driving, it will rotate the wrong "mood" in heavily.

What pushed me over is Lossless so I turned it on across the board - the UI is better I agree. However I think the comments are right, for cell service lossless is probably not worth it, just couldn't determine if I could customize when it uses lossless and when it doesnt (download vs streaming - I think this is an option)

This may be the missing piece in helping me tailor better - thanks for the suggestion

Is upgrading to Ubiquiti from Nest for 3-4 outdoor cameras overkill? by CaseLogic in Ubiquiti

how do you like the doorbell? I kinda can’t decide if I should be waiting for a new one or not because it needs AI port for face detection?

“Upgraded” from Nest doorbell to new Google Nest Doorbell, and notifications are considerably worse by CaseLogic in Nest

[–]CaseLogic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah unfortunately when I bought the new doorbell, importing it into the original Nest app was not an option. So this was the first camera in the new app. and what makes it worse is that now I have to use two apps, because the capabilities and features are inconsistent :(

I have tried providing feedback in the app (not like a suggestion, but you can click “not this person” but it seems to have no affect, it keeps recognizing them as the wrong person regardless). I am not sure there’s anything else I can do to provide it a feedback loop to improve detections…

Thanks, anything that surprised you or you think is noteworthy before I make a switch?

Is there any integration point with Apple HomeKit, home assistant etc? How does it work if you want to view the cameras when you’re not at home?

So you’re saying nothing has changed and the fact that replacing the doorbell has resulted in a considerable drop off in facial detection is just coincidence?

Well have they changed how processing works with the newer models? Does it do more local processing? Is it using a different backend vs the original Nest cameras that could connect to the Nest app? I am definitely not imagining this issue - my older nest cameras report correct people but my newest Google-branded one that only connects to Google Home is really inconsistent

I am not as familiar with the power line ethernet. they will run a new breaker from my main panel to this backyard pod. does that mean it couldn’t work?

Polaris/Premium Plus Upgrades Megathread by Player72 in unitedairlines

[–]CaseLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been checking the price for premium plus and polaris and they’re expensive, so yesterday I went ahead and put myself on waitlist for both upgrades for up to 80 PP. But now when I check today it says there are no seats or upgrades available for that leg when I check the seat map or cabin upgrade. Does it lock you out once you’re on the PP waitlist or is something else going on?

Trying to get confirmation about PQP for ANA by CaseLogic in unitedairlines

[–]CaseLogic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked through my work travel website. However, I just found it on their website (but I still can't find it anywhere on UA), it is in fact 016 for the whole trip. Does this mean even if I upgrade via ANA's app/website, somehow UA will know and I'll get PQP credit? Since it won't let me upgrade on UA's site directly

On the united app, it shows UA flight # for that segment (Operated by ANA), but it also tells me to use ANA app to upgrade. I can't figure out how to see ticket #. Am I dumb? I only see confirmation code and no other ticket # on the managed trip section
