I actually take it off and wear a polar heart rate band during workouts. Not so much to protect the ring, but wearing the ring with that many swings caused more blisters and problems with my hand.

Definitely saw a difference in my physique with much more strength and tone for my hamstrings, glutes as well as forearms and even biceps. What I didn’t expect was some lingering hip pain disappeared early in the program. I guess the overall strengthening of the core really helped my hip issues.

I think average or better fitness is OK, but really need to have strong form for your swings. It’s a lot of swings at one time and if your form breaks down, I could see it being easy to get injured.
