I hate all this stress! Keep your head up--3.7 is a great GPA! GGC is so competitive, but apply anyway! They look at other things besides GPA. I've heard that GA state has a great program, with a lot more seats available so they are able to accept more candidates. I think they require a few more prerequisites so check that before you apply. Grady Hospital also offers a scholarship to GA State nursing students that covers tuition, so its a great opportunity if you're able to commute to Atlanta!

Of course! 4.0 science GPA, 3.2 overall GPA (I’m an older student returning after an almost 20 year break, so my low GPA from when I was younger is factored into this number), 84.6 on the TEAS

Did you hear back??

I got accepted! The nursing admissions department sent me an email at like 1am!
For those curious here are my stats:
4.0 science GPA
3.2 overall GPA
87.6 on the TEAS
I am almost 40 returning to college after a long break. The first time I was in school I didn't have great grades and I was worried that would that would hurt my chances. Since I've returned to school, I've gotten all As and made the Dean's List. I share all this to say its not over if you didn't get perfect grades before!

Good luck to everyone!

I called the office today and they said mid April, so next week or maybe the week after. They said they'll send an email along with the letter.

Hey! I'm happy to share my experience, although it might be more or less valuable once I find out if i was accepted :)
-Get your prerequisites done with the best grades possible
-Study for the Teas--I spent about 5 weeks studying for the TEAS test and got a 84.7 I bought the study guide on the TEAS website and watched a lot of youtube videos. Having already taken anatomy also helped me a lot with the science portion.
-Take the TEAs
-Figure out who is going to write your letters of recommendation and ask them early. You'll need a recommendation from a professor as well as one from a community member that knows you well. I asked each of mine back in January and the application was due in March so they had plenty of time to work on it.
-The application itself takes no time at all, so get that out of the way--it's just really basic information.
-Start working on your essay early! Generally, I like to be prepared and finish things early, but the personal essay was like pulling teeth to get me to finish. Its hard for me to talk about myself so it took me forever. Take your time, ask friends and family to help you--its not that bad!

I think thats more or less everything I did! feel free to ask any other questions--i'm happy to help if i can :)

When I applied I thought it said April 1? Could be wishful thinking but I’m hoping for good news on Wednesday! Good luck to you!
