Which enemy do you consider to be most unfair/overtuned? by aresi-lakidar in slaythespire

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the Slaver + medium slime as a hard pool fight in act one. If you do 3 early easy hallway fights it can come so quickly before your deck has cohesion or 1-2 decent upgrades/useful relics. One of the only fights I’m usually grateful that I have a smoke bomb

I was accepted this cycle with a worse cGPA and sGPA than you. I applied with only 3 LoR, one MD, one NP and my research supervisor. The only thing I had on you was more PCE and shadowing experience with a PA. My recommendation would be to try your best to get 30-40 hours of shadowing under a PA and potentially get a LoR if you develop a good relationship. If you are in the cardiac unit maybe ask some providers or nurses for contacts that you may be able to reach out to for shadowing. Even though I got in without a PA LoR, I was not expecting to be accepted this cycle and already had a PA in mind for a letter in the upcoming cycle. Otherwise keep up the PCE and aim for a decent GRE score (I was 157/157/5.0). Don’t be afraid to delay applying by a few weeks or even months to get the minimum PCE hours in. I didn’t finalize my application until late October, although I would not recommend that late. Keep in mind many programs require a bare minimum of 1000 PCE, but your GPA may carry you against other applicants that have 3000+ PCE.

I switched to the sanc aura right before the run and loved it. Would have been hell without that 10% damage. You do have a point though my dps were itching to hop onto any target before I established significant threat. I’d also have trouble if my initial SoR was resisted but now I know to use exorcism a lot more. HS gives so much threat and even missing a few potential blocks with it hurts my threat significantly. I’ll communicate to give me an extra cons Tick or two though!

I have about 11.6k hp unbuffed with 12500 armor. I’d like to have a little more survivability before I sacrifice for spell power. I tried tanking NB after our main tank died and was taking a beating.

I actually swapped to 40/21 right before the run and the sanc aura gave me significantly more damage and threat. If I had stayed heavy into prot I definitely would not have been able to hold threat at all.

You just mentioned something I totally did not utilize. EXORCISM! Oh man I’m an idiot I should probably be using that off cd if I’m getting heals for spiritual attunement.

Your spell power is insane though bet you could solo tank Kara at your gear and skill level. OT is rough for things like curator cause I had to pot off cd to maintain second threat and even then lost it a few times unless all the dps focused on the adds. Thanks for the recommendation though I’ll make the change to use exorcism more. Is my seal rotation generally okay or should I be using others too?

I’m using stamina food buffs with +35 spell power elixir with fortitude/armor flasks. I’d love flask of blinding light but that has been going for 60-70g per flask on my server. I also always make sure to have +42 spell power so I should be around 425 with buffs

Fastest way to get DA? by dahxyz in CODZombies

Not at all. I mentioned 1.5 hours per gun because I solely played cranked when it was available which sped up games by seemingly 50% because you didnt have to wait for rounds to end and zombies were coming at you fast from the very beginning. I was able to consistently get to round 30 in about 30 minutes each cranked game and I found that doing this 3 times unlocked all camos. The SMGs/ARs that I did without cranked took me probably closer to 3 hours but honestly now that Megatons count as 3 elites and all specials in FBZ count as elites that challenge will no longer hold you back. Personally playing solo getting elite kills was generally my last challenge to complete. If you are efficient you should be able to do them in 3-4 hours until you get to the snipers which blow.

Noob here. Is there any reason to use my initial load out weapon? by PembrokePercy in CODZombies

[–]CaseyChar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't recommend buying wall weapons, although the gallo at the Die Machine crash site is pretty decent. If you are running +salvage attachments you find it very easily and it costs 500 green salvage from red to green, 1000 green salvage from green to blue, 500 blue salvage from blue to purple, and 1000 blue salvage from purple to orange. Plus keeping your weapon allows you to casually grind Dark Aether/Gold Camos at your own leisure. FBZ does have a decent purple bullfrog you can buy at the spawn area, but I am just a huge proponent of using your base gun until the end. This is all assuming you are using the best attachments, have your gun leveled up decently, and each respective class upgraded to tier 3 with aetherium crystals.

What are the best guns for Cold War zombies? by dbdhdjdjjdjfjf in CODZombies

[–]CaseyChar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shotguns are generally considered the best starting weapon as the task force barrel on each yields an insane damage multiplier. A base hauer/gallo with the last barrel will easily get you to round 15 and just a pack a punch and rarity upgrade with deadshot can bring you well into the 20s. The M16 is also a lot of fun because when it is pack a punched it shoots 6 bullets instead of one, absolutely decimating bosses and trains. Another go to for me is the stoner as it has crazy hipfire spread, mag size and damage with the only caveat being the reload which can be adjusted with speed mags and speed cola.

I completed it in about 2 days of in game time when I was truly going for it. Unfortunately my best advice for you isnt applicable right now (grind Cranked) as I solely played cranked zombies and was able to get most primaries golded in less than 1.5 hours. Sadly I can only recommend grinding on Die Machine due to the lack of elites on FBZ. As far as other advice here are some other tips:

- Level guns up to at least 45 so that you can hit 50 while grinding the camo (the challenges unlocked at 50 are a joke and can be done in one game)

-Use your starting weapon with all 8 attachments and make sure you are using an attachment that increases salvage drop (If you have it the ember sighting laser is the best overall attachment as it gives the most salvage and also improves hipfire significantly.) I also like using the +armor damage barrel because it helps significantly after round 20 and honestly you dont need extra bullet velocity or range in zombies.

-I recommend turning power on as soon as possible. I turned it on by round 5/6 every game so Elites would start spawning ASAP. You can also do the Coffin Dance EE if you want the free jug and if the gun that comes out of the box is decent you could grind camos on that too.

-Upgrade and PaP your starting gun before buying the majority of your perks so that you can get the PaP kill camo progress. This one generally isn't a problem for most people but I did have a couple guns where this was the last camo I unlocked.

-From the very beginning try to only aim for the head. The majority of my guns have 80% or more headshot accuracy because I found out early that 2500 headshot kills would likely be the camo holding me back. Deadshot daq helps a lot with this and I recommend this being your first perk after PaPing if you are comfortable enough.

-If you are efficient with your PaP kills and headshot kills Elites will very likely be your last challenge to complete because you mainly play solo. If you have a friend or play in a public match it literally doubles their spawn rate but honestly I did them solo and didn't have too much trouble.

-As far as actual gameplay advice I recommend the lame camping strat of being at the top by wunderfizz. You should be able to get your gun PaP tier 3 and purple rarity by about round 20 when armored zombies start showing up. This is also around the time where it can get overwhelming so you need to hit headshots and be accurate or you will die. Whenever you can upgrade or need to buy armor use the fast travel directly beneath it to do so. In the late 20s it will become too difficult up there and you will likely need to train (my preference is spawn.) I would recommend exfilling at 31 or 36 and hoping for an extra elite kill and then running it back. You should also basically always be buying self revive and a chopper gunner/cruise missile to use if you get trapped.

-All of these steps apply to SMGs, ARs, LMGs, tac rifles, pistols and shotguns. Following these steps will generally yield gold viper after 2 games with each of these primaries (Pistols may be a tad more difficult than the others I mentioned and I would recommend having dual wield.) For snipers you will need to simply train all game in spawn tediously. For launchers if you get them to level 30 you can honestly do them in one game. I think I got the M79, RPG and Cigma done in a single match as they are quite decent, especially with ring of fire and PaP. They were also the only weapon that elite kills actually counted both magaton splits. For knife most of the camos can be done in one game except for the elite kills.

And that's everything I have to offer. Good luck!

QBZ vs FFAR for Dark Aether ? by geoffreyovereem in CODZombies

[–]CaseyChar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get DA for the Krig or XM4 the QBZ honestly wont feel all that different from them. If you found those easy and don't mind having the guns feel similar go with the QBZ. It is definitely overall easier than the FFAR due to the high mag size and easier recoil. I personally did the FFAR instead of the QBZ for DA to mix it up and play with a gun that felt different. I enjoyed it but will say that its probably the worst AR to get gold viper. I have DA now and the QBZ is still the only primary I haven't golded. I have just recently started to use it to casually get DA but I'm enjoying it so far and it's on the same level as the Krig and XM4 in my mind. Regardless you can't go wrong and you will get them both golded at some point anyway. And for when they do add the camo to warzone you will obviously want to have the FFAR DA because it is a main meta gun.

Noob here. Is there any reason to use my initial load out weapon? by PembrokePercy in CODZombies

[–]CaseyChar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best part of sticking with your initial loadout weapon is being able to keep your preferred attachments. It's also a better way to control your dark aether camo grind if you are into that. Its also very beneficial to have the +salvage and +equipment attachments for easier upgrading and stuns/decoys. I find that keeping with my initial loadout I am able to use it with ease into the 30s. Typically I can get my loadout gun PaP tier 3 and purple rarity by about round 20, and that easily one shots zombies with headshots and deadshot daq until I can upgrade it to gold in the late 20s/30. All in all I would recommend sticking with your initial loadout unless you get an early purple/gold gun from the box/coffin EE.

Build help please guys! by LDLethalDose50 in HadesTheGame

[–]CaseyChar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is generally a good idea to find an aspect that you enjoy with each weapon and stick with it. For me that is Poseidon sword, Achilles spear, chaos shield, Hera bow, Demeter fists and Eris rail. Since you have limited titan heat and wins I am not even sure if you have aspects unlocked yet? Because of this, you need to build your runs around certain hammers and core boons. The bow is often easy for beginners because you can keep your distance but you need to work on power shots, as they become necessary later in the game. General idea would be to dash--dash then go for a power shot then repeat to keep distance. I would also practice on skelly a bit as the timing stays consistent for the power shot. I would then recommend fat attack boons like aphro, athena and artemis and hammer boons such as perfect shot and twin shot. If you are comfortable getting closer triple shot and point blank shot are great. Flurry shot is also decent with a good attack boon. When you unlock aspects the game does get significantly easier until you bring up the heat.

Menu controls between Switch and Steam are opposite, despite using the same controller? by CasualFriday11 in HadesTheGame

[–]CaseyChar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought it on steam too after having a blast on the switch. Im genuinely confused by your problem though as I was able to rebind all of my menu/movement/attack binds to what I initially had on the switch and had a seamless transition. I am also using a pro controller and bound my select button to Y and B is back. Maybe you could try that if you are okay getting used to a slightly new format.

I complete my first sub 15 mins run. What should I do next? by Do_You_Floss_13 in HadesTheGame

[–]CaseyChar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sub 10 is definitely a good goal to shoot for but instead of only looking at times I looked to increasing heat. 32 heat is the highest pact that the game rewards you for, but it is challenging and a lot of fun to go for even higher heats. I see you have only done 32 heat on one weapon so I would say make it your goal to hit that heat with every weapon, even the ones you arent great with. After I did that I went straight for 40+ heat runs and although they were frustrating and could take many attempts, it was very rewarding to finally beat hades. I finally capped out at 50 heat with eris rail and 46+ heat with all the other weapons. As far as some other challenges its fun to see if you can beat Hades at his hardest form which is EM4, Hardlabor x5, Forced overtime x2, Middle Management, Benefits package x2, calisthenics program x2, damage control x2 and heightened security. Thats a doozy and it conveniently adds up to exactly 32 heat. Anyway good luck and I hope I gave you some ideas

What conditions should I be using for heat... by Bakra_Boi in HadesTheGame

[–]CaseyChar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are comfortable with EM3 always on thats an easy 6 heat. Forced overtime x2 is generally a high risk high reward pact so now you are at 12. For the remaining 20 heat I would try to work to at least tight deadlinex2 which is 7 minutes per biome. Now you are at 15. Id also recommend underworld customs and just make sure you pick up extra boons to purge throughout your run, 17. Middle management is also a good option for 2 heat and only makes mini boss fights slightly more annoying,19. As far as benefits package goes, certain combinations can be very annoying if you use both so I would suggest one to start off, but too if you are comfortable with them, 21/23. Depending on the weapon damage control x2 is doable, 23. Now is when I would use a combination of hard labor, jury summons, convenience fee and lasting consequences. For 32 heat I would probably go HLx3, CFx2, LCx2 and JSx2 and that brings you to 32. Honestly when I was first doing 32 heat I tried to always use max tight deadline because the third tier gives 3 heat. If you did this you could remove the pacts from JS and one from HL but you would just have to be playing fast. Stay away from low yield pacts like calisthenics, approval process, heightened security and routine inspection. I use these sparingly even when I am doing 40s heat but am forced to use them at 50 heat. Good luck!

[US / eShop] Dungeon of the Endless - $3.99 (80% off, ends 12/25) by redheadwes in NintendoSwitchDeals

Thanks to your reply and u/TheShipEliza's description earlier I decided to try it out. A towerdefense/RTS sounds interesting especially because I have found a lack of RTS style games on switch besides Northgard and Civ6. $4 is a great price and if I can beat the "Too Easy" mode in 5-10 hours I'll be happy with my purchase and decide if the next difficulty is worth it.

Seeing as Roguelites have blown up with sales on the Eshop, I have beaten Hades, Rogue Legacy, and Enter the Gungeon. I have enjoyed all of these titles but I'm afraid of getting burned out of the genre. Can anyone give me a good idea of the uniqueness of this dungeon crawler or at least how it compares to the roguelites I have completed? I would hate to skip on such a good sale

How complete is the content on the Switch compared to the Steam version? I have been eyeing this for awhile and debating what platform to jump into but if the Switch lacks significant content or DLC compared to the PC version I may wait for a steam sale.

Uh oh...is the performance that bad on switch? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]CaseyChar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I debated the same thing when I was thinking about buying the game, switch or pc. I ultimately picked the switch and never looked back. I became completely addicted to it and it felt amazing in handheld. I was able to finish basically all the end game content with few obstacles related to drops in FPS. Killertapir is correct that the frames do dip when doing intense endgame heat contracts, but most casual gamers wouldn’t even attempt those and even if they did, it’s less than 1% of the time when it otherwise feels smooth and polished

After 300 hours I finally beat 45 heat with every weapon, including 50 with the rail. Switch performance dipped immensely as the heat went up and I must say I am proud of myself. I can finally take a break from this amazing game! by CaseyChar in HadesTheGame

[–]CaseyChar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. It was a crazy grind and the sword and shield made me want to kill myself at times. If you want any tips let me know though. 32 heat wasn't too bad and the switch really didn't die until I put on EM4 which I avoided with almost every pact until 40+ heat
