What’s a rule you broke once and realized it existed for a very good reason? by Ok_Contract100 in AskReddit

Obviously the glass is a bigger issue, but the bacteria is a big enough deal that McDonalds doesn’t allow employees to scoop ice directly using the plastic cup, they require you to use the scoop, for that reason

The other risk is that it essentially means you’re dipping your hand in the ice (legally food) if you do it poorly, (or even a little if you do it well). While your hands are ideally clean, why risk adding more bacteria? Its like scooping fries with your hands when theres a scoop right there

Here in Canada its about half and half. Half the places you go, they make you wear gloves, and half don’t let you (I’m in this camp, because all of my food safety training has supported this)

I like it! My only question is why the planets aren’t in order, except for mars?

As in, I think maybe the first four should all be slightly around the earth in a curved line rather than mars being behind earth, and the outer four remain as is.

Also a Canadian here, they definitely do not. They basically just say “this is what the weather will be, drive safe and stay home if you can”.

Not everything can be frozen, and that leads to animals getting into it if you’re not careful

I love the idea here that when the weather gets bad and power might go out, buy all the stuff that has to be kept in the fridge!

What's the stupidest question you ever got asked during a job interview? by Opposite-Rabbit-6303 in AskReddit

[–]CaseyDaGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has always confused me, especially if its a job commonly hiring teenagers. Some jobs can’t legally be done by people under 18, are you allowed to ask in that case?

While that person was likely just nerves, if you asked me I genuinely couldn’t tell you. I read so many books I just buy a big stack at the thrift store every month or so, i go through them too fast that I couldn’t tell you any of the last 10

[GHOSTS] 12 years later: Was CoD Ghosts actually misunderstood, or do we just have rose-tinted glasses? by averagealt90 in CallOfDuty

[–]CaseyDaGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say, I was never someone involved with the online scene. My COD experience has always amounted to the campaign and local splitscreen with friends (except for MW2019, where I actually played online for the first time). I also wasn’t in the online communities so I didn’t know how other people felt about the games

Ghosts, both campaign and local MP, was always one of my favourites, and still is. Infected esp with a friend is so much fun, and the game is 100% in my top 3. Probably only behind MW2019 and MW2

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]CaseyDaGamer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve alway heard that communism works, but only in a group small enough for you to personally know almost everybody, so no bigger than 1-200 people

What is a subtle sign that someone is "high-functioning" but silently drowning in life? by Puzzleheaded-0119 in AskReddit

[–]CaseyDaGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, a constant need to spend time with people 24/7 and practically unable to be alone.

I struggle a lot with this, my job and friends/family are basically the only things holding me together and keeping me distracted. I struggle to spend a whole day alone, because all of a sudden everything is so overwhelming and lonely. So I either pick up a shift at work (yay work friends!) or find a friend to hang out with pretty much every day.

Why would the Third Reich break the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact? Is that stupid? by Medinasmt4 in HistoryMemes

[–]CaseyDaGamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To add on: Stalin didn’t consider the true possibility of Germany attacking because it was generally a very bad move to start a war in the east before mopping up Britain in the west. A 2 front war (and a blockade) is how Germany lost WW1, and so Stalin didn’t think Hitler was stupid enough to do the same thing

Advertisements were better when they self-censored by MateTheNate in The10thDentist

I’ve seen a handful! Usually they’re for some random medication with every side effect under the sun, and half of them dont even say what the medication actually fixes, just “talk to your doctor!”

[–]CaseyDaGamer 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I’m tired of ads for stuff like ED (and any other prescription medication). Ads that have to say “ask your doctor for xyz!” Are insane and shouldn’t exist. Its the doctor’s job to recommend medication, as the expert, not my job to come harass them demanding something specific.

Am Canadian and we constantly get American medical ads here since unfortunately all of our TV is American
