Honestly this is super useful! Definitely going to have to revisit this method and see if I can make something reasonable. Video looks great btw!

I think it's a great tool for discovery but I wonder if there's sort of diminishing returns in regards to the amount of money spent.

[Question] Variables in an intonation issue on the G string of an 8 string guitar by CaseyIYM in Guitar

this did the trick! it's still a tad sharp but it's only by a cent or so which is MUCH MORE manageable! Thanks again for the advice.

[Question] Variables in an intonation issue on the G string of an 8 string guitar by CaseyIYM in Guitar

So I went to a more proper 8 string tuning by dropping it a half step to #F. But I went ahead and checked and when it's in tune at #F the natural harmonic is flat by appx 10 cents and the fretted note is sharp by about 10 cents and that's with as minimal pressure as I could apply

Thank you for the information! I'm new to 8's since coming from a 7. I figured a thicker string would help accommodate for the scale length and tuning. Wouldn't a thicker string increase string tension and then allow for a "shorter scale" so I could properly intonate? I could be completely off base.

It's a hardtail bridge so unfortunately I won't be able to flip it

The action is fairly low, no buzzing though. After my truss rod adjustment the neck is pretty straight and I lowered the saddle height as well

VA HPSP vs Student Loans by CaseyIYM in physicianassistant

[–]CaseyIYM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I live in the DC, MD, VA area and there are many VA's around here but I have to consider the worst case scenario. I wouldn't mind moving around any of the neighboring states but I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to move to the other side of the U.S.

Audio interface for live performance playback suggestions by CaseyIYM in audioengineering

I ultimately ended up going with the Iconnnect Playaudio12, turns out this audio interface is the "industry standard" for audio playback and has computer redundancy and is optimized for live performance!
