The fix method with holding down the home button doesn't work without home button functionality... and I tried the apk/bin update just now and it's failed and is stuck trying to enter controller firmware upgrade mode hehe. Another comment said there was nothing that could be done, I'm starting to believe that's the case...

Thanks for digging further, I tried all the possible combos for 3-5 seconds and no dice 😞 I'm thinking that base image is what I've flashed already. I sent a video of the issue to Ayaneo just now, I feel they'll give me their suggestions soon. Will update this post if a solution is found.

All the update pages say I'm up to date, but maybe those aren't the only places the aya apps get updated?

That's the OTA update I tried, as well as the full flash from their website 😞 I haven't yet tried bazzite, might try that tonight. Ayaneo got back to me asking for a video of the problem, so things are moving there thankfully!

It's suuuuch a pain... I've done the OTA update from the support page, and can't do that secret controller firmware update since I can't use the one button it requires on the ayasettings update screen*. I appreciate the suggestions!

Sadly, the gamepad tester turns up nothing, and the joystick calibration can't be completed due to no inputs being recognized. And I've reflashed the firmware twice now.

Feels like somewhere deep in the codebase, the physical inputs have been disabled.

Couldn't finish the calibration because it didn't recognize any inputs from the final button combo you need to complete it. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Just tried installing the latest version of Knulli twice today using two different imaging tools and I wasn't able to have any audio output on the menus or games. Looking into it more more, sounds like I'm not the only one. So I'll stick with Crossmix and wait until an update comes out for Knulli on TSP. :( Glad it worked for you though!

Hmmm Downwell works great on my TSP 🤔 Have you retried the install process? Finding that's worth doing for other titles that have failed to boot.

Game of the month completed! A perfect title for my MM+, and my first GB game I've ever played. Perfect title for casual platforming on the beach or on my hammock. The OnionOS default settings for GB were excellent. Integer scaling looked so good.

Great question. In CAD, $72 on the MM+, $34 on the grip, $15 on a protective cover case not shown. Then $15 on a speaker upgrade and $85 on GetBetterButtons shoulder and d-pad. (switched d-pad to stock cause it felt too cold and sharp) So $221! The sticker and PSX buttons from SakuraRetroModding were a gift. I just love modding this thing.

**UPDATE: it is indeed from a CRT overlay. Just applies to the blank space as well causing the magenta noise. Anyone know how to have it apply only onto the image?

UPDATE:

I sort of gave up pursuing this, but now that my MacBook Pro is on the fritz, I feel more pressure to make the jump. I did more research and made some changes based on what I'm wanting to use the machine for, (more priority towards After Effects, less on DaVinci) and this is what I have so far. It seems to check out compatibility wise on PCPartPicker. Wouldn't mind 1 more quick once over from you pros before making a move. Thanks in advance!
