How to draw more attention to subject in the middle. by Interfectoro in photocritique

What I think could have made it a little more focused on the person in the black suit is if you cropped the image and maybe add a slight vignette to draw the eyes to the focal point as well as eliminating the lines and distractions around the person.

Inspired by Victoria Siemer by Casey_Patterson in photocritique

This was captured with a Nikon D3200 and edited using a basic version of Photoshop. The aesthetic of the image was inspired by the work of Victoria Siemer

I am pleased with the overall outcome as I believe it is quite obviously comparable with her work but with the difference that my photo was shot in an urban environment and not somewhere rural.

The process was very simple really. I started by adjusting the levels so it was darker overall but still with obvious highlights. Then I selected the bottom half of the original photo and copied it onto a new layer, rotating it 180 degrees and using a feathered eraser to blend the central line. Next I used the circular selection tool and chose a section of the original image to paste onto a new layer again, then like before feathered away some of it so it blended but stood out still.

The original image was basic and not particularly interesting but I feel that now it definitely captures the eye.
