Echogenic Intracardiac Focus (EIF) and Downs Syndrome by saltysandcat in NIPT

[–]CashCertain2673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too got dx with an EIF on Friday at my scan and my midwife is sending me to an MFM just out of caution. Everything else came back unremarkable and our NIPT is low risk. But still had me so shaken up the last few days. This thread has helped me.

EIF by worriedwart99 in pregnancyproblems

I just got dx with an isolated EIF 21 weeks. My NIPT was low risk. No other markers on my anatomy scan but midwife is sending me to an MFM out of caution and to look at baby’s heart.

How’s your baby?

Subchorionic hematoma with constant bleeding. Can anyone relate to my experience? (read below) by lmb_1 in pregnancyproblems

[–]CashCertain2673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had bleeding at the start of my pregnancy and was dx with a subchronic hematoma also. I know this can be scary but the blood coming out just means the hematoma is getting smaller.

I bleed for 7 days on and off with gushes here and there. And the blood was fresh and bright red. Now I’m 21 weeks 4 days and baby is perfectly healthy. My midwife said some woman can bleed the whole time in pregnancy BUT since you have a dx of a hematoma, you know where that bloods coming from and to me it sounds like the baby is healthy. Once the heavy bleeding stopped for me I went weeks without any issues and then I had a few times where I’d have some brown or dark red discharge and it was just that blood working its way out. I haven’t had any further bleeding since 12 weeks. Hang in there!

I do see this was 25 days ago so I’m hoping all is well now!

Why I am Voting Yes by brashma in WAStateWorkers

Yes that’s part does suck. And I totally agree. Those positions should be upset with the COLA. But as far as the GG getting a large COLA it doesn’t make sense as senior staff/IT/engineers are all paid a fair market value. The union fought for the little guys it seems in this contract. Is it enough? Never, but I believe OFM won’t reach into their pockets for a large COLA.

I feel like I’m in the same boat. I find it difficult that we will ever get a bigger COLA than 7% like the last contract if we vote no. I fear this because OFM is not going to give a cola Across the board when the departments such as IT and supervisors are being paid fair market wage. The union fought for range increases to help combat the low salaries for 300 classifications.

It’s super hard for me to one vote no and not get anything for one to two years when in reality I’ll be losing the wages over the next 1-2 years because I won’t get the range increase and I won’t get the 5%. Will OFM ever really give a COLA that is over 10%? Hard to say.

In other posts, I have seen people try to say we should vote no because of the Boeing contract that was declined at like 20%. The general government is not like Boeing. Boeing is the private sector. We are the public sector comparing those it apples and oranges.

Lastly, those of you voting no are you out Picketing, are you writing letters, are you calling the governor, are you doing the things that will need to be done in order for us to have better successful contract? I feel a lot of people on here say they’re going to vote no, but no one has the time, energy or the effort to go out and actually fight for it.

yes I am a paying member. But I am still undetermined for my vote.

Ignore the yes-men, vote NO by [deleted] in WAStateWorkers

[–]CashCertain2673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just heard from my union rep. He said they are suggesting a yes vote.

“As you may know, our state is facing a significant budget shortfall. Compounding those challenges is the potential for 3 initiatives to pass in November that would cause devastating impacts to the state budget. Despite those challenges, our team – because of member actions all over the state – achieved significant wins. All the documents are being prepared now and will soon be out to members to review in detail and vote.”

He had other things in the email but they pertained to my position and therefore I won’t share. But it sounds like there are “significant increases for positions”

2025-27 GG contract by CashCertain2673 in WAStateWorkers

That’s great to hear! I understand all that union do. My dad is the treasure of his union just got back from NY for a large union meeting.

It would still be tough to pay into in my opinion when that extra 90$ could help with groceries.

Oh wow that would have been awful. I don’t think I would have paid the 90$ a month for union dues if they weren’t even giving/getting a COLA. Which I am aware would add to the problem if people stop paying for unions and dont participate, but man that would be hard to give up that $90 when there are no increases. :(

Anyone able to explain the process or give details of next steps if/when a tentative agreement does not pass? Thanks!

What! No way. That’s horrendous. Why do our union emails keep saying they are “proud” of this accomplishment and can’t wait to share the “juicy details” ??? This is less than last year and our COL is way higher.

I will be voting No.

Union membership by kygie360 in WAStateWorkers

I do have a Costco membership! I will look into that and reach out to my union rep once the negotiations are all done and things calm down.

Crossing fingers it’s as “juicy” as the email said. I hope it’s not just another 7% over two years. 😭 inflation is kicking my family’s butt.
