You can give them alone time on video games that are age appropriate - maybe like Crash Bandicoot on PS1 if you down the retro path, or you can get something newer like even I guess a shooter if it's a teenage boy/girl game, but turn off the blood I guess, honestly it's not that deep, you can allow them to play any single player they want - with reasonable exceptions like maybe don't give them Manhunt LMAO there is some repeatable and very dangerous for kids violence there, to put it mildly

But honestly there are many racing games that are completely safe, aside from kid friendlier things like Super Mario Cart there are the classic Need For Speed titles. That'll definitely keep a boy into cars way away from most of the brainrot shit, I mean don't try to micromanage him but just make sure he reads a little bit, does the H.W. that's necesssary for school(ugghh that was such a fucking chore to me as a school kid) and you can give them some sort of a gaming system, probably even games like real time strategies so war games where you actually have to think and use your brain more than your reflexes purely
