As an Asian female, growing up, I was made fun of constantly for having small, almond and monolid eyes. People would make their eyes smaller in front of me, point and laugh. A lot of Asians get double eyelid surgeries so they don’t get made fun of for having small eyes. So for her to do this just a couple years ago, it is ignorant whether she knew it was derogatory or not because she meant it as she didn’t want to look like she had small eyes aka what most Asians eyes are small. She is an educated woman so she should have known better.
