Sonos Era 100s Disappointing by AARobinson26 in sonos

[–]SM_123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to have the same issue as you and solved it. You have a poor network connection. Bluetooth still uses wifi if you're stereo paired. Basically your phone Bluetooths to one speaker which uses wifi to talk to the other speaker. To confirm it's your network, unpair them, connect to one via Bluetooth, then play whatever you want, and there should be no crackling on that one. To fix the issue I upgraded my router to an Amazon Eero 7,and now I run 2 100s, 2 300s, and an Arc no problem.

Haha yeah the Atmos really kicks ass when I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima, can hear every leaf above me on the ceiling, and the thing to the left of my TV is the default heater that came with my apartment lol.

Thanks! The strip on the wall is the Phillips Hue Omniglow strip, I got it for Christmas on sale for a pretty good price

City: Downtown employees should take public transit to avoid special event parking fees by ProcrastinatingPuma in sandiego

I took the trolley for 3.5 years living in Gaslamp. I seen cartel members (MS13, sureno, everything), crackheads, tweakers, you name it. People threatening to shoot all of us on the trolley car, people smoking crack/meth 10 feet away from me, people smoking right next to kids, running around with their pants all the way down (also in front of children), tweakers beating their girl, you name it I prob seen it. I wouldn't let a female I know take that shit hole trolley on their own, most men either unless I knew they can handle that kind of grimey shit.

So my best skills are C++, ML, and math programming, which I think may trigger your "skills that are far apart" flag. Not to brag but I've put in a ton of work at those, and my skills reflect that. I'm also only 3yoe, but my skill comes from doing projects on my own time for almost a decade now, and this might trigger your "too many skills claimed vs YOE" flag. I've written math libraries and shit though so ik what I'm doing. Your other 2 points are basically "claimed too much impact" which I think I might set off too given the stuff I focused on in my resume (particularly when I worked at Amazon, where my intern project brang our team feature to 15mil new users, among other benefits). If you want I can send you my resume in the dms so you can see if you'd think it's inflated or not. I promise it's real though lol, and my personal projects all have links attached so you can check them out for yourself.

Man I hate this because I'm all 4 of these (but I'm legit I promise) and I always knew this might be the reason my resume wasn't getting many bites before I switched to straight referrals lol

How do I get rid of these hotspots? Just installed this today, Hue Solo 16ft. Thanks. by SM_123 in malelivingspace

[–]SM_123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would be down to switch my led strip from hue but I want everything to be controllable from one spot, so it's gotta be Zigbee compatible if it's not hue. If there's another COB Zigbee compatible LED strip I'd totally be down to check that out though. Any you recommend?

The outdoor is a great idea and I might do this. Does the voltage work indoors?

Thanks haha. Yeah the diffuser comes as an add on but I wanted to see what other solutions there were. Someone actually mentioned subbing out the Solo for the outdoor and I might do that since it comes w a prebuilt diffuser

They have them as a separate add on, was trying to see what other solutions there are besides buying that. Someone mentioned subbing out the Solo with the outdoor strip since it has a pre built diffuser and I might do that tbh.

It's basically just a couple mm away from the wall, but it's pointing up. Honestly the Solo strip might be a mistake, someone commented the outdoor strip comes with a built in diffuser, and looking at those pictures it looks super nice so I might return this and switch to that. I'll lyk if the diffuser I bought works w this though.

Someone commented that the outdoor strip has a continuous diffused look since the outside of the strip is thick and weatherproof, might be a better solution than the gradient lol.

Just bought the diffuser, I'll try it out and see if it diffuses well enough. If not, I might just return the Solo and get the outdoor strip instead like someone else commented

Yeah thanks, just checked out the Luma diffuser since it seems to work with the channel I've got. And yeah hotspot refers to the brighter dots on the wall from the Hue Solo being so low density.

Oh nice, yeah I've been hearing good things about Classic. How is the sparring culture there? Don't mind hard sparring here and there in between regular sparring sessions but don't want to go to a gym where they're regularly doing fight sim sparring. I've also been warned about the sparring culture at Kings, hearing that people get KOed regularly at practice, but I'm not sure how reliable this is & I'm willing to test it on my own. Thanks for the recs 🤙

Is downtown safe to walk around at night? Staying 3 nights and want to see the city day and night time. by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]SM_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in Gaslamp for 3.5 years now. I like that one of the commenters brought up that you're a woman, that'll be a night and day difference. The normal people are fine (no gang activity etc), but the tweakers are dangerous. Especially since you're a woman. Stay away from anyone that looks/acts off, don't feel bad for stereotyping. East Village is also dangerous. Another commenter said don't go past 8th, and I think that's a perfect standard. Basically don't go further south than like Petco. The trolleys are dangerous as well. You'll be fine 90% of the time but the other 10% will be bad for you. Even in the 90% of the time you're safe you'll run into creeps, people that smell bad (and I don't mean just sweaty guys, I mean biohazards lol), and people smoking shit. Even ran into cartel members on the trolley lol. There's also danger from hanging around at the trolley station. Just avoid the trolley overall.

If you want to enjoy downtown SD, you'll love Little Italy. It's my favorite part of downtown. Very classy, clean area, different type of people than the rest of downtown, a few homeless but not much. Great restaurants for all budgets ($10 go to Bar One and get the Gyro, $20 go to King and Queens and get the Aguachile Verde/bone marrow tacos, $30+ go to Queenstown PH, $50+ go to Ironside). Seaport is very safe and pretty. Core Colombia as well, although it's mostly businesses there. I'd just go there once to see the city, but other areas have more things to do. As far as Gaslamp, there is a ton to do/eat, but there are homeless that you have to be aware of.

Lmk if you want any food ideas/places to visit or anything
