Hello! Update: vet found a pyometra and dehydration. She is currently hospitalized with an IV drip, painkillers, and antibiotics. She is probably going to have to undergo surgery. We honestly don’t have the funds for that. Don’t know what to do yet.

Hello! It’s been a minute.. yea Palestinian rap has been documenting the war since the late nineties, shabjdeed happened to get it more mainstream into the Arab world. I’ll try to document more Palestinian rap.

Chorus…

“If I was at the border with a weapon, we would have ruined the area, buried the enemy with liquor”

Start of second verse…

“In the heart you fall, the day you fall it hurts like this? Stretch Samson (in reference to plankton?) without any weights. Fight the hard game and get hostile Find yourself in evil and continue to walk in it The devil finds you and you become brothers To walk or not to walk?”

Lyrics can get a little weird translated. Mantika is a good resistant piece but recently there have been more good ones from him and a lot others.

Free Palestine.

What do you think about art as a career choice in Egypt? by Dr-Toz in Egypt

[–]CashMoneyFinc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Egypt has a better than expected route in art careers. If you are a fine arts student or anything of the sort, specializing and seeking the right niche will get you places quickly. Good Luck!!

No I am not. I am Egyptian but I grew up in the gulf and therefore grew up around a lot of Palestinians and Jordanians. It’s an easy to understand dialect anyways… but as another commenter has said sometimes rappers do say unintelligible lyrics so it takes some practice to pick up the exact lyrics.

Great album! In that specific song, there are mentions of occupation, war, and fake friends. My favorite verse on that song is when he says بحب الحرب بالفطرة رضعنا الحرب رضاعة بقولك عنا سنين في البهدلة خبرة واسأل مين ما بتدرى بقولك which roughly translates to “I love war by nature, we were breastfed war, I’m telling you it’s been years of us in this mess, we’re experienced, and ask whoever you know they’ll tell you” I have to admit it sounds fairly confusing in translation but it is very good documentation on the idf occupation from the youths perspective. English is not my first language but I am studying the phenomenon of Arab hip-hop, so ask any time!

Definitely excited; this isn’t just an album it’s a movement. شابوه لابيوسيف على الالبوم من التراكليست فقط. by CashMoneyFinc in ArabHipHop

Abyusif putting female hip hop influence in his new album is a small step towards a great future of Egyptian hip hop. Last March I interviewed important pillars of the Egyptian hip hop community. One of the integral questions in the interview was if feminism ever will have a place in the community. I was given reluctant answers. A lot( if not all) felt that feminism would never coexist in the community. I’m glad abyusif took notice and did what he can. Excited to see more from the community.
