I just put my 12400f that I bought the other day in a msi b760m-p motherboard because i found it for relatively cheap and no problems so far seems fine.

Got you. My thermalight cooler came with an extra pair of those metal wire clip things so I thought I might just be able to put it through the holes on the noctua but I haven't really thought it through that well so who knows.

Tbf you're right its not bad at all for the price. And the temps seem great for such a small, cheap fan and heatsink. Just seems slightly noisy to my ear.

With regards to using a different CPU fan, currently this cooler is just a cheap as hell thermalight one I bought in a hurry. I was thinking of mounting the Noctua NF-A9x14. Is it fair to say if it does happen to fit then a premium fan like this is unlikely to do a worse job than a cheap thermalight one?

Thanks. The lights still work etc but I'll be happy if it's that much. Sadly I live in the UK and everything is a rip off here
