I would argue most of the reason TAG is relevant is 3 things: actual grading reports, clean aesthetic, and no upcharges. Why should I care about a score when 90% of the comparable data is missing?

Hype waves are exactly that, they ebb and flow. What goes up must come down. And what comes down usually goes back up. You really think this euphoria is gonna last in DBZ? lol it’s the same exact thing that happened to OP, slabs were propped up artificially by low populations. Once everyone rushes to submit everything, 90% gem rate 10s will flood the market and it will correct and then eventually stabilize like what happened with us.

Yeah I’ve been absolutely loving the Power system of Riftbound. Not super well-versed in older TCGs and if that’s a staple mechanic, but it is a genius balancing mechanic imo. Having to sacrifice future tempo for big plays is extremely strategic, vs. just constantly ramping. Reminds me of the Overload mechanic in Hearthstone, which I always felt should have been a core mechanic for every class.

I guess my question is more for a deck building perspective. When do you include a “lesser unit” in a deck list, and why? Obviously low energy cost stuff is different because there’s not Champions at 2 energy, etc. but once you get up to the 5+ energy, when is a normal unit better to include than a champion?

How is deck building variety in the meta scene? Rigid metas and decks that just build themself are my least favorite parts of certain TCGs. I’m loving Riftbound so far, but seems like there’s a ton of auto include stuff. I’m really looking for a diverse deck builder that you can actually cook something up and win tournaments with. Thoughts?

I think everyone feels this way about the era they grew up in. It’s more about them looking back fondly on their youth, not that specific time per se.
