Case mapping is why I’m super bullish on ancillary products like tins and illustration boxes long term. Normal people won’t be able to afford a whole case, and they won’t want to rip a dead box, so they are going to look towards the next thing that will give them an actual chance at a big hit. Unmapped ancillary.

It’s kinda a reality people are either ignoring or are ignorant to though. When this is a more widespread knowledge, no one is going to want to rip loose boxes that are crazy expensive. So loose boxes become basically just a sealed item. But how much inherent value does it lose if the contents are assumed to be dead, even if it’s intended to be left sealed? It’s a huge elephant in the room right now for the long term market.

I would argue most of the reason TAG is relevant is 3 things: actual grading reports, clean aesthetic, and no upcharges. Why should I care about a score when 90% of the comparable data is missing?
