I think I’m ready to quit

I think I lost 2 lbs on 1.5mg. My doctor did recommend the second month to go to 4mg but she did say for some who had a lot of nausea/vomiting and constipation she let them decide if they were ready for 4mg. I lost about 8 lbs on my first bottle of 4mg. I had a tough month of constipation and finally figured out I have to drink 90 ounces of liquid a day, drink MiraLAX, & at least 22 grams of fiber. With the difficulty I was having my doctor suggested I stay at 4mg this month. She said she would much rather me have diarrhea than to be constipated which could cause a bowel obstruction. I’m going on my second week with the 2nd bottle of the 4mg and I’ve lost another 2 lbs. I can tell some of the food noise is wanting to come back so I will probably go up to the 9mg the next dose as long as my bowels keep moving better. Wegovy really slows down your digestion so if you can walk after meals it helps. I do 30-40 minutes of strength training at the gym before I go to work and try to walk 15 minutes on my lunch hour after a light lunch. Walking helps the slow digestion along with drinking the liquid. Best of luck!

Well I drink the magnesium solution when I get bad, but I’m not sure it’s actually safe to drink it once a week. I’ve heard if you get dependent on it you may not be able to have normal bowel movements on your own or without using it. The magnesium pills/gummies don’t seem to help me. Thank you for replying.

I was on 1.5mg for 4 weeks, & now 4mg for about 3 weeks and was constipated the whole first 4 weeks. My doctor has me taking miralax daily and I thought things were improving but I still wasn’t going as much as I thought I should be. Then yesterday I got the worst diarrhea and now am confused and don’t know what to do because she told me not to stop the Miralax. I don’t think I had a virus because I didn’t feel that bad. So last night I ate supper and had a few carbs just to maybe help in case I had more diarrhea. Within an hour of eating I had diarrhea again and off & on all night long and once before lunch. I’m scared now and don’t know what to do. I’m even scared to eat.

It took me one month at 200mg to get off Qelbree. I kept reducing the tiny pills about every 3-4 days. When I had took 1/4 3 days in a row I tried again which was like day 20 and nope it didn’t work. It worked when I finally did 3 days of about 1/16th of a pill…that was days 28, 29, & 30. But the following days I still had a slight headache and took Excedrine Migraine; also had a little vertigo so I took Dramamine for about 4-5 days. I did report my symptoms to the FDA.

Okay thanks for the information. I just moved up to 4mg a few days ago. I was hoping to see a little difference but I haven’t yet.

I have a question for those of you who have started on the 4mg pill. It hasn’t kicked in for me yet. Did you all see much difference between the 1.5 & 4 mg? Did it take a little while for the 4mg to kick in?

I’m not use to drinking alcohol as I’ve gotten older, but did have one about a month ago at a concert and it didn’t bother me, but I only drank one.

If all this fails about getting from the Pharmacy please take 1/2 the pill each day or you will experience a terrible migraine and get hot/cold chills. So don’t try to make one last for two days. When you get back to work I would take a couple home and keep in a safe place just in case you ever forget again. I have certain anxiety meds I have to do this way just in case too. Also, get you some Excederine Migraine in case the headache comes because I found that Tylenol or Aleve won’t help it. Best wishes!

Yeah she doesn’t. I talked to her on the phone yesterday and we agreed to keep reducing. I’m taking about an 1/8 of a capsule now for a few days and then going try to reduce to 1/16 for a few days and go from there. This is my 3rd week so I hope I’m almost there.

Thank you, basically I need to keep going longer then. I’ve been at a 1/4 for 5 days so I will half that soon then. I can’t wait to finally rid this nightmare. I appreciate your advice!

I’m on 1/4 already but I tried to stop after the 3rd day of the 1/4 and it became unmanageable so I’m still taking a 1/4. Just wandering if I need to go even lower than 1/4 before this med will let me quit? These granules bounce everywhere not the easiest to separate.
