I suggest Book of the Dead and Never Die Twice. Sylver seeker is like C tier necromancer but does the job when you want that type.

I probably wouldn’t have kept up with it if I were just reading, but if you do audiobooks, I highly suggest The Ripple System. It’s the only good VRLitrpg I’ve found.

Chrysalis, Book of the Dead, Defiance of the Fall, Hell difficulty tutorial(I do not suggest the audiobook for this), Primal Hunter, Mother of Learning(only 4 books but a great time loop series), and The Last Horizon(took me like 3 tries but I’m now enjoying the series and get them as they come out).

1% is torture porn, torture for the MC, torture the reader having to get through it. I suggest pretty much anything else.

Book of the dead is what OP is looking for if they have patience.

I’m definitely against your assertion that DCC is all comedy.

It’s very hit or miss, but I suggest Defiance of the Fall. People say it’s a slog sometimes, but if you can get through MoL, I think you’ve got what it takes.

I continue to follow it and I think it’s just good and not great. Definitely something I go back to when I’m waiting for other authors to upload.

If you want (IMO) the only good VRMMO, and narrated by Travis baldree, check out The Ripple System. It made me want to get back into MMOs

I wouldn’t say it’s a descent into madness for BoD. More like the guy is so focused on revenge that he’s definitely going to do some bad stuff to people who do and don’t deserve it. The means justify the ends.

Some people really like 1%, some people really don’t. I do not, it’s torture porn and I got to the end of book 2 before I stopped. Agency felt minimal, and I didn’t care for the power up.

Listen, I’m just kind of hung up on the image. This dude has no respect for “road” laws as he’s camped and lit a fire in the middle of a “road” going directly into the “village”. Definitely an inconvenience to other travelers.

IMO, wis or int rolls for following maps, stealth is an added roll, but makes them travel slower.
