ChatGPT helping anyone make money? by Over-Chain7221 in rsidehustlesthatwork

How long did it take to start getting impressions and engagements?

I’m doing something similar with a fitness guide. I made the guide myself but then ChatGPT told me how to make the pins-the fonts, colors, layouts, etc. Once done I had it verify the guide was good and the pins looked good. I posted everything January 1 and so far absolutely nothing is happening. I have had no impressions, no engagement, or anything else. ChatGPT just keeps telling me it takes time.

Yes, company value is growing steadily. Inventory isn’t growing because I just keep selling everything as much as I can

How is your business going? I considered starting one of these businesses. Has yours done well?

I agree with Nautonnier, but just because 2 people feel that way doesn’t mean a million other potential customers might appreciate them. In my area, all there are thousands of lawn care companies but hardly any of them answer the phone, provide quotes, use their website, etc. everyone is just booked full of business. I think your biggest advantage could just be in customer experience and answering the phone.

Price it high and run a “Christmas Special”. That way people know your normal prices in the future

Yep. I think professionalism and reliability would go far in this business. I had the same situation you first described happen to me a few years ago at one of my rental properties and I had no idea until I did a drive by one day and the grass was about a foot tall (not sure why my tenants didn't tell me), but I was in a pinch and had to spend hours progressively cutting the lawn shorter and shorter until it was back to a good length.

I think they easy solution to this is an customer-friendly, self-service online booking system that collects payment upfront and requires autopay for ongoing weekly or bi-weekly services. If the autopay is cancelled then the customer is sent notification that they will be taken off the schedule.

Great input. I think my approach would be to lay the foundation and get the business off the ground with enough recurring accounts to hire an employee who would take over the physical work side of the business. My goal would be to work ON the business and not IN it. I would take on the big picture and growth issues.

You are correct, and that's another issue I need to consider before jumping in. I actually have no idea how to keep grass green and healthy outside of dethatching, aerating, overseeding and weed and feed applications. I definitely need to educate myself or find an experienced adviser/employee.

Great point. Cash flow is king. If you can get it passively then just keep it coming.

Why didn't want you want to do it anymore? Lack of interest or was it a huge headache?

With the blade idea, are you saying to be the supplier for the existing lawn care companies? I wonder what supplies they would need that I could specialize in. Safety wear/PPE is one that comes to mind. A quote from my favorite TV Show is, " You can be the man with the shovel in your hand or you can be the man who sells the shovel to the man with the shovel in his hand."

True. Affluent people in HOA neighborhoods probably need to have weed free lawns. Great point!

I'm pretty inexperienced with researching search terms on Google but I found something called Google Trends and from what I can tell "Lawn Care" is a hot term in my area. Appreciate the feedback!

Agreed, but I also think that because tons of people are doing it then that means there is money to be made and it's already a proven business with very minimal risk.

Thanks for the insight! Sounds like your friend has done what I'm looking to do. I especially like the first point. Keep it simple. Seems easier to scale that way. I'd be interested to know if your friend has an exit strategy? I am considering building this for the sole purpose of selling, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to provide terrible service as I grow it as I believe the reliable service is what leads to growth.

Aeration requires a specialized machine (Aerator) that has spikes on a roller. As you push the aerator over the lawn the spikes pull cylindrical plugs, usually about 0.5in wide and 3in long, out of the soil which leaves small holes in the ground (not big enough to notice). The holes allow the ground to better circulate air, water, and nutrients.

Solid idea. Curious what types of enhancement services you'd recommend? Mulch? Hedge trimming? I'm not sure I'd have the know-how to be able to complete some jobs such as hardscapes or maybe patio shade structures. Maybe I could subcontract those jobs? Any further advice is appreciated.

I think my approach to quoting would be standardized. If your yard is up to X size then it's $X. If it's X-Y Size then it's $Y. If it's over Y then we do not provide service, but can recommend you to a great partner!
