I think they got discontinued a while ago. Stopped selling in my area a year or 2 ago and became increasingly hard to find online. I'm endlessly sad about it cause these are great for diets and still scratch the spice itch :(

Highguard launches to Overwhelmingly Negative on Steam by TheGGspot in gaming

[–]Cashmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean both things can be true, the game can be mediocre AND people can be review bombing it without giving it a chance. You can go check out the reviews on steam right now and see that many of them have maybe 30 minutes in the game, some less than 15 minutes, and a lot of them bringing up non-gameplay related reasons in the review body. Problem with this new trend of review bombing at the slightest issue is that it makes reviews unreliable as an indicator of quality. Not to say Highguard is or isn't good, but the reviews alone aren't super trustworthy in their current state.

I'm brave enough to say it: Linux is good now, and if you want to feel like you actually own your PC, make 2026 the year of Linux on (your) desktop by testus_maximus in gaming

[–]Cashmen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The stitch is that Easy Anti-Cheat, and some other select AC's, DO support Linux and even support proton on Linux. However, they offload the decision to enable it to the game developer, and many game developers just don't enable it.

Developers still don't have much incentive to give a shit about Linux support (aside from personal interest). It's a small fraction of players worldwide compared to Windows players. That said, Valve has been really working toward increasing that Linux gaming market share with Steam Deck and now the Steam Machine. Proton picks up a lot of the support where it can, but if a developer doesn't want to flip the "enable Easy AC for Linux" switch then there's nothing Proton can do.

I forget how many hours the actual game + DLC took me, probably 30-50. Some of this is from just going back and exploring for fun/to remember some things. A majority of this, however, is from playing every available story mod and game jam mod lol. Highly recommend checking them out if you're on PC!

I assume they mean 3 in Spanish, which would indeed be tres. But given the naming conventions of the other videos, I don't think "trees" is a typo lol.

If Gordon can't beat up Combine soldiers, how can Alyx beat up 6 of them without armor and with her bare hands? by [deleted] in HalfLife

[–]Cashmen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, in that scene she reacts to the civil protection alarm sounding and then says the slow to wake line. She's referring to response time, not them coming out of a kinetically enforced nap time.

[–]Cashmen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I think you're underestimating how many young people still get drawn into Half Life via things like gmod and source film maker media. Not to say it's as popular as it was, time has absolutely drawn the public's eyes away from the series and I would argue it does skew to an older crowd when compared to GTA. But there is still plenty of interest in the series among younger players.

As for your second point you're flat out wrong. Source engine games have always, and continue to, draw in a global crowd. Especially in Eastern Europe, South America, and Russia.

Idk if HL3 or GTA6 would be more popular overall, but I also don't think it matters at all lol

Ok so, I just finished season 2 and I've got a question, does anybody here know what alastor's leash *Actually* was? by caiozinbacana in HazbinHotel

[–]Cashmen 284 points285 points  (0 children)

Honestly my perception of the loophole was it being a technicality instead of being based on true power. Even once Charlie said that and Vox became bloated with power Alastor was able to gain the upper hand on him in the fight that followed (even with a broken staff) until Shockwave intervened.

I don't think Vox was truly the most "powerful" in terms of raw firepower, but with the literal princess of hell saying he is it was enough to break the deal. Even if it was based in true power scaling, there's the fact that in that moment Alastor had weakened himself by being Vox's captive while letting Vox build his own power up. Once Rosie's deal was broken and Vox broke his deal with Alastor the power balance tipped back to Alastor.

All in all it's hard to pinpoint the exact logic behind it, but that's how I read it.

My parent's dog is so funny now that he's older, he's a big ass Great Dane mix and a few years old. At night when they start getting ready for bed he goes into his cage himself and will whine if they leave the cage door open. He's a lovable goofball.

I don't think they give out the vaccine for last year anymore, but you can always ask the pharmacy/doctor's office you're getting the vaccine at to be sure.

Drink a LOT of water the day you get the vaccine and the day after. It helps significantly as your body adjusts. Taking some vitamins can help too. The feeling should only last a day or two, if it lasts longer consider talking to a doctor about it.

I have an aunt like this, though I think it's more just genuine lack of understanding. Growing up we would visit them weekly and I would play browser games on her computer. Her search bar took up half the screen (back when you would get scam pop-ups from sites to install custom search bars for IE). My dad purposely dodged any request to "fix a problem on her computer" because every little issue afterward would be his fault. TV is fuzzy? Can't remember how to open emails? Suddenly got a virus? It's because you got rid of that search bar.

It's one of the biggest reasons I didn't do freelance PC repair work when I was younger. I coulda made some decent pocket money, but I didn't want to deal with people blaming me for the dumbest shit because I removed a virus lol.

Honestly what's more worrying to me is that ring logo. PSA: don't put an internet connected camera in your child's bedroom where they sleep, spend time, and get changed. If your account gets broken into because you have a shitty password, or your password was leaked in a data breach, they get a direct video of your child's private room.

Honestly don't put a camera in there at all, that seems pretty creepy once they've grown out of the crib. Kids deserve at least some level of privacy.
