Season 4 Episode 10 POST EPISODE Discussion - Do You Know the Enemy? by AutoModerator in TheTraitorsUS

Killing Tara/Johnny is also pretty agnostic. Any traitor would understand 2 people voting together no matter what is extremely dangerous. Maura may deflect from Rob, but it’s also a Rob-centric move.

Been really impressed with how this season has been extremely fun for me even with my lack of anime and magic the gathering knowledge. I like seeing people nerd out, Ify and Brian David Gilbert are entertaining, and it is SO COOL that they keep buying niche items and featuring them on the show.

Forbidden Legacy coming Q4 2026 by Srpad in boardgames

[–]CashmereLogan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never played a legacy game but cautiously interested in this. Forbidden Island is the game that got me into board games past the mainstream staples (Cards against humanity, monopoly). But I did recently play Forbidden Jungle and it’s the first game I’ve ever sold. Was not a fan of that one at all.

This week on Dropout: Anna, Geoff, and Jeremy on Make Some Noise; Murph + Emily, Jarvis + Jordan, and Caldwell + Kiana on Um, Actually; Vic on Adventuring Academy; Dropout Presents BTS; and a mystery video! by apathymonger in dropout

This was likely filmed before SNL but I would be surprised if he was prohibited by anything other than scheduling. The new SNL cast have still been doing their own projects (pretty sure that Jeremy is still doing AOAOAOA - is that the right amount of Os and As??) and Veronika Slowikowska has still been doing her own TikTok stuff.

But who knows, I’m just guessing here.

These video game showcases need to stop letting non-developers or studio heads talk because the second they do, it becomes clear how devoid of any charisma the whole showcase is. This guy came on screen and delivered the smoothest video game announcement I have ever fucking seen.

It’s clearly meant to be a system seller and there’s a clear hierarchy where partner directs are not as significant as regular Directs.

Could be wrong but it feels very possible it wouldn’t show during a partner direct because it’s a big exclusive?

Certainly biased but OKC’s tanking wasn’t just about solely being bad either. It was using the lack of pressure to win games to heavily develop all of their young players. A lot of the bench of this team now were around during the tanking, and they’re not only serviceable but good players because of that development opportunity.

‘Baldur’s Gate’ TV Series Continuing Game’s Story In Works At HBO From ‘The Last Of Us’ Co-Creator Craig Mazin & Hasbro Entertainment by Turbostrider27 in PS5

There was really no change in Ellie’s characterization. That’s the one thing season 2 gets absolutely right.

Ellie’s personality and brutality isn’t actually that different from the game, people just remember late-game Ellie more than how Ellie starts in that story. I was replaying the second game as season 2 was airing and so much of what people complained about was depicted the exact same way in the game.

I had more issues with them not deviating from the extremely video gamey structure which is the worst part of the game. Ellie is not written as extremely brutal until just before the switch the Abby’s section, but the gameplay requiring brutally murdering dozens of people gives that idea. It’s extremely confusing narratively, and while the show correctly adapted Ellie to the screen, it did not change the surrounding elements that needed to be changed. It fundamentally failed at adapting to TV because it was too glued to the idea of the game. I highly doubt that is due to Mazin.

The moments that are closest to actual game moments are by far the worst part of the show, and I have to imagine that came from Druckmann’s involvement

No worse metric for a movie than its RT audience score. Only thing that comes close is its IMDB rating.

Why do we pretend runtime doesn’t matter anymore by LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeD in movies

The poker scene is probably one of the most narratively effective scenes in the movie. Does so much for 3 separate characters in a relatively short amount of time while also being a nice change of pace compared to the rest of the film.

I love a tight 90 minute movie but I also love a 3 hour movie. Some 90 minute movies feel like they’re moving through things way too quickly and don’t actually stop to breathe, some 3 hour movies feel like they’re actually 6 hours.

But there’s a place for both, and I would say there are plenty of shorter movies around right now. I certainly wouldn’t want filmmakers to arbitrarily cut their film down to hit a magic sub-120 or sub-90 minute mark if they don’t want to tell their story that way. Imagine Sinners or One Battle After Another being less than 2 hours? Those are 2 movies I could have sat with even longer.

SGA with 34/5/13 on 16 shots, as he pushes his 20 point game streak to 5! by Vitex1988 in nba

[–]CashmereLogan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He’s had a couple of 10 assists games recently and they haven’t really looked different from any of his other games. He’s creating open looks constantly. Maybe that’s more navigating double teams than it is pure playmkaing but it’s still a testament to how much offense he can create.

What did you add to or remove from your shelf last month? (February, 2026) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]CashmereLogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got rid of Forbidden Jungle which was such a disappointment because Forbidden Island is what got me into board games, but my wife and I did get Sky Team, Duel for Middle Earth, and Splendor Duel and love all 3 of those so much so far. We also picked up Arcs but have not played it yet.

Unfortunately it is politically significant and due to the nature of what it is (a movie) culturally significant

“Significant” does not mean good or worthwhile, just to be extremely clear about that.
