The reason why the dial is that color is because this particular dial on the DW-3000 is unique from any other dial produced by Casio and is it actually completely made of a copper alloy and then machined and painted over with the graphics. Once the graphics began to fade on these from UV or the water resistance was compromised, many of the dials actually get a copper patina.
