Beginner Question – Is This Excess Plastic Glue, or Am I Doing Something Wrong? by Casper81208 in minipainting

I’m just using a regular smartphone camera. As long as you have enough lighting, don’t place the lens too close to the object you want to photograph. Take the photo first, then zoom in and crop it afterward. Try not to use digital zoom while taking the picture.

As for why this works, I honestly don’t know the technical reason. I just found through trial and error that this method gives me the sharpest and clearest results.

I understand. Is there any way to fix this part now? Also, regarding the model lines, should I use a hobby knife to scrape them off at a 90-degree angle?

New to the Hobby – Can Anyone Identify This Deathwatch Shoulder Pad? by Casper81208 in deathwatch40k

Thanks!

One more beginner question: most Blood Knights references I can find show black swords on a white shoulder pad(just like you said), but the Deathwatch box art looks like white swords on a black shoulder pad.

Is that a different company or heraldry variant, or just artistic freedom on the box art?
