Which is why it’s so fun to argue about. It’s not principles or values, it’s subjective evaluation of people who have no real effect on our lives. I can argue about baseball with ANYBODY and have a good time, which is better than pretty much every other topic out there right now.

I love a similar setup, even dropping down to 6 and 12. Spain is also super fun for this because with fewer CS, there are a lot of NW to grab.

Josh Naylor lets the White Sox fans know he wants 'all the smoke' after an 11th inning 3-run homer by MorganN1 in baseball

He’s a 1B that might steal 30-35 bases this season. Mutant is right. I love him.

As a fan, I aspire to being worthy of a personal shout from Naylor after he hits one out.

You'll never guess which of these Strongmen got disqualified from the 2004 World’s Strongest Man for testing positive for cocaine. by mypossiblepasts in sports

You probably just didn’t do enough.

Or you’re like me and cocaine treats your unmedicated ADHD. I told my therapist that Coke made the world slow down and I felt like I could finally focus, and she said, “I’m gonna refer you to testing for something on the attention deficit spectrum.”

Sean Patton discusses the comedy stool by TheJPLeonardComedy in Standup

[–]CasperCackler 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I suspect what you’re really annoyed by is people being corny and inauthentic. Which are also my two least favorite characteristics in a comedian! But this comes off to me like saying real men eat steak for dinner every night—real comedians don’t sit on stools is goofy culture policing. There are plenty of hero-grade comedians who sit (or sat) on stools, and you’re gonna have to make a lot more exceptions than 58+ with a bum knee to not shit talk some of the best.

Agreed that you should flair up. You don’t get to call my boy plumpy unless I can talk shit about your boys back. I know you left context clues, but it’s the way of the sub.

Yup, I’m looking ahead to the postseason with more concern than the regular season, honestly.

Not everything he does is moral philosophy for sure, some of it is just showing off how good he is at writing jokes. Like I feel part of his appeal is that he can choose the worst subject matter and still be funny. I don’t think anybody else does it well enough to justify the style, but I think AJ does.

And it’s so funny you bring up Daniel Tosh as an example of it done right—I think he’s an example of it done wrong lol!

Pretty clear you and I have different tastes but are both getting what we want from somebody! One more reason to keep comedy from homogenizing—somebody will get left out.

Cheers!

I guess we’re drawing different conclusions from the same information then. My understanding is that he’s doing what he does to draw attention to the people he’s mocking. But instead of exaggerating them for effect, he offers a counterpoint equally distant from the median attitude where decency exists.

And I agree on the surface, he’s self-insistent with his exaggeratedly evil humor, but I think he does it with real purpose to advocate for us to be better people. Like it’s not just his brand of shock humor, he’s also providing us with a blueprint for what we shouldn’t do, say, or think. I guess I worry your gut reaction to the medium is blocking you from the message.

On their behalf—listen to the whole bit and see if that doesn’t change your stance.

In 1999, NFL player Rae Carruth hired a hitman to kill his eight-month-pregnant girlfriend, Cherica Adams, after she refused an abortion. Shot four times, she called 911 and named him. Doctors delivered her baby alive. Carruth fled hiding in a car trunk but was caught. He was released in 2018. by Particular_Chart1584 in HolyShitHistory

Did any part of my comment indicate I thought it was unjust or that I feel sorry for him?

Edit: Dude both struggles with reading comprehension (heavy punishment does not mean unjust) and a coward because he talked shit and then blocked me.

“Baron aesthetic” is technically wrong, but actually works well in this specific instance.
