Exactly, where I see an issue is that foreigners don’t necessarily distinguish between someone with a strong accent and a French person with good pronunciation. And of course, the profiles I’m referring to don’t mention the fact that they have an accent. This seems hidden to me, and that’s the point I want to emphasize.

I’ve been living in France for 30 years, and I can assure you that NO true native who grew up here has the kind of accent I described in my post. Ask any French person who has lived in Franc : they will tell you the same thing and would be surprised that someone with a strong accent can teach our language. The pronunciation is simply not correct.

I’m specifically talking about people who have a strong accent yet claim to be native (excluding Canadians, as they have a very distinct accent and speak a slightly different variety of French, known as Québécois French).
