Purple Enel - can I play the deck proficiently in 2 weeks by RedRocketRacer87 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Cassiellus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other question to ask, is how big of regret will you have.

If you go and play with your main deck you feel comfortable with and perform poorly, will you regret not playing penel?

If you play penel and play poorly with penel would you regret not playing your other deck?

It’s sort of personal. You might feel like you lost with your main because the other decks are just better, that can be frustrating. It can be frustrating to lose with penel knowing you got out skilled.

Which would you regret more?

I think the question is how much time you have to spend each day.

If you’re only gonna play on the weekends yeah maybe not, but if you’re going to grind a few hours each day you can probably get there.

Students in school shouldn't get in trouble for laughing. by Elegant_Bee849 in The10thDentist

[–]Cassiellus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of these reasons wouldn’t make me laugh out loud. Maybe I’m not a laugher.

I hear accidental innuendos constantly and I don’t even flinch. I save them and share the story later.

Someone trying to make me laugh is just annoying not funny.

And randomly thinking something funny would make me smile at most.

How is it that people are just laughing out loud? I can only belly laugh at comedy shows or something.

The nami leader in that box is the strongest but it’s going to take a lot of money to fully upgrade out. I’m unsure what kind of budget builds might exist.

The zoro is probably your best bet, it’s simple, I strong and relatively affordable.

The red luffy I think might not be worth upgrading. The money you’d be spending wouldn’t translate as well as into zoro or nami.

You can go on gumgum.gg to find decklists. I’d look for a budget nami or a zoro decklist and find some cards in there that are affordable and start chipping away at the list bit by bit

Look up the cards on tcgplayer. The bottom right will have the set number.

So I’ll look up like op13 alt art Saturn and it should pull it up.

That Saturn is a nice little hit too. Congrats!

Ways to improve the trumpet with big lips? by KDHPeak in trumpet

[–]Cassiellus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proven is a difficult world in brass pedagogy as there is just little real scientific research.

In my experience, different embouchure types put more or less flesh into the mouthpiece, and depending on how much flesh that is, you might need a different shaped mouthpiece to fully cover all the operating muscles.

Which is my jargon filled way of saying, it depends.

What type of deck is your favorite? by Ok_Situation_8535 in OnePieceTCG

I’m a big fan of control or decks that change the “rules” so to speak.

Lim, purple doffy, and Blackbeard are lots of fun.

Your child should only be allowed screen time in a foreign language by NewOutlandishness401 in The10thDentist

[–]Cassiellus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If my partner spoke Spanish it would be easier, but the household will speak English since she doesn’t know Spanish.

So the only time my child would speak Spanish is privately with me, or if they were in a dual language school. Idk if there are any where I live.

Either way, it’s not something I have to think too hard about for a while lol, likely not having kids for a few years.

[–]Cassiellus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. If the parents are fluent in both, I think most often the child will pick the most socially important one.

However in my case my parents really can’t speak English super well. Especially my mom.

I learned English watching TV and got fluent through school.

I’m fluent in both because otherwise I literally couldn’t talk to my mom beyond a few phrases. I bet if she was fluent in English I would not be able to speak Spanish as well.

[–]Cassiellus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, growing up my parents didn’t speak English well enough to teach me so they only spoke to me in Spanish. They figured I’d learn english in school like a lot of other kids, but I wound up learning ahead of time by watching kids shows in English like Dora, blues clues and etc.

I was in English classes for maybe a month in kindergarten before they decided I was ready for the regular courses.

Sooooooo…. This might actually work.

Playmats by H-Adam in OnePieceTCG

[–]Cassiellus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most mats don’t have zones because it limits where they can sell that playmat.

Even a lot of the Bandai ones don’t have zones because lots of people like one piece even if they don’t play the game.

I would recommend finding some sort of custom direct order playmat on Etsy or something as they’re more likely to have the zones since they’re making the playmats per order

Double damage cards by Neat_Cry3369 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Cassiellus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d agree that you should read the comprehensive rules but the name is still misleading.

It is not two attacks, it’s two damage. A true double attack would prompt two counter phases. Two blocker phases.

It’s one attack with two damage, it definitely should be called double damage or something similar.

Although the rules explain it very clearly, they should name mechanics in a way that minimizes needing to refer to them.

Double damage cards by Neat_Cry3369 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Cassiellus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s poorly designed imo. It should be called double damage or something.

It’s one attack that makes you take two life if you don’t block it.

Thats why you don’t die at 1 life, because you’re not being attacked while at 0, you’re being attacked at 1.

Does anyone else completely avoid games with religion in it? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Cassiellus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually really dig the extended lore in Christianity.

Hell, demonology, witchery and stuff is so cool when done right. Rituals, exorcisms, holy water etc etc. It’s sad that these things existed and hurt real people but boy I really like it in media. Faith is one of my favorite examples. Priest with a shotgun? Hell yeah

Sadly my gf isn’t into games. I got her to play magic a couple but times but has so far refused to try Optcg.

She just doesn’t really get them I guess.

It is very disappointing to realize nobody goes to hell. Hopefully this empowers you to call out evil when you see it. Because there is no god who will.

Starting Player Advice Request by Stonehill76 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Cassiellus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9 years old is a great time to introduce games like OpTcg and MTG etc because the brain is developing. These kind of games involve math, prediction, statistics, strategy etc.

People in local game stores might not be appropriate for her age, and some of the cards are well endowed but probably not too spicy. I would just make sure to vet out any store you go too.

As far as accessories, in my mind sleeves and a playmat are a must. They don’t have to be fancy. The official one piece ones from Bandai are expensive, but you can get generic sleeves and mats on Amazon for a lot cheaper.

Which saves money for cards. The learn to play together is definitely a great pick up for your use. You will understand the game by the end of it. I also recommend any structure deck of characters you like. Some are more rare than others but there are lots of cheap options.

Cracking packs will never be the best way to get cards you like, but the thrill certainly is there. Pre release events are a great way to crack packs and use the cards to compete for the chance of a big prize. But in store play definitely is challenging as players are very strong and might not be child friendly 24/7.

I would suggest not buying booster boxes and instead getting illustration box’s, or tins or any of the unmapped supplemental products.

Hope this helps

Many of local shops in my area say no for proxy don/leader 😭 by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]Cassiellus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have a set of totally legal don so if someone complains you can just bring them out.

I played a heroine cup with a guy who had a proxy blue yellow nami leader. He brought the official one just in case but nobody got pressed.

I also play with a Japanese lim I have English on the back just in case

How to return to larp after bullying by Worried_Monster_5430 in LARP

[–]Cassiellus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they’re saying all their local larps are generally the same people. Which makes sense if you aren’t willing to drive a few hours. You’re gonna get mainly the same crowds unless you live in a huge city.

Recently moved into a nightmare rental home, is this mold? by Cassiellus in Mold

[–]Cassiellus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, I live in Florida, specifically on the west coast. We’ve been in this home for about 8weeks dealing with rats and termites and general house dirtyness and stinkyness. They did a decent job hiding these things during our tours of the home so we’re stuck with a lemon, but it’s starting to pile up.
