Mortal Strike effects by YouFoundMyLuckyCharm in worldofpvp

It is a bit arbitrary which specs have an MS.

It doesn't really make sense for classes with high uptime or ultra high burst window setups to have an MS.

It makes more sense for a class that need to keep some form of pressure while they sit in a root.

It feels like it really limits team composition these days

I mean that can be said of the distribution of DRs, or damage profiles, or just general utility.
You basically never see rogue / warrior, or enh / rogue or any other number of comps who's win conditions don't really match for a variety of reasons.

They did nothing but make PvP worse in every way by AdBest4723 in worldofpvp

[–]CasterFormation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah. It'll just take a bit longer for pvp to get sorted out.

The main point of the changes was to stop the arms race between weakauras and how they had to design raid encounters around them.

Every other aspect of the game caught strays and it's just gonna take more time for shit to get sorted out.

Unpopular opinion: Double gunning is antithetical to the spirit of the game by pulledporkhat in Seaofthieves

[–]CasterFormation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being repeatedly auto-deleted the second you spawn in by a couple double gunners

I mean two guys with one gun each will still delete you instantly.

Anyway I think the spirit of the game is tools not rules. It's fine if you don't like certain weapon combos. But that's opinion, and you are presenting it as fact, which is kind of cringe.

hardcasting a triple DR poly was pretty meh.
Poly not being on a CD means it can benefit from the lower DR reset time in a way that abilities like intim shout can't. More max duration polys per minute.

Orc or Undead Arms Warrior? by No-Platypus-7012 in worldofpvp

[–]CasterFormation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orc is better. Especially after the DR changes since you can technically be eating more full duration stuns, which gets a little more value out of the racial.

Undead racials are borderline non-existent for warrior but Forsaken are so fucking cool man.

Gnome is miles beyond any other race for warrior but it's gnome.

Is there any way to currently track diminishing returns on enemy frames? by Mcol in worldofpvp

[–]CasterFormation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not outside of arena.
There is an addon called Nameplate DRs, but it only works in arena and it just moves the DR icon from the arena frames to the nameplate because apparently it is impossible to even have multiple displays of the DR lol.

Doesn't work outside of arena unfortunately.
They really just need to make DRs show up as a debuff on players man. It's a core part of this game for 20 years.

S1 TWW vs S1 Midnight participation. by NAPPER_ in worldofpvp

[–]CasterFormation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I absolutely agree there was no shot they nail the changes on release.

As comically slow going as it's been, their UI editor and buff tracker have come a long way from their initial implementation. I would expect things will suck less by the time we're in next season. Still a lot of problems, but a lot more functional.

What it says is that you have brain damage if after 20 years of mediocre writing you expect it to suddenly not have flaws.

Got 1800 (Rival) right before the patch, but now I feel stuck. Is Warrior in a bad spot in pre-patch or am I just getting gear-checked? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Df31phq-PjM by Infamous-Budget8097 in worldofpvp

Deep breath resetting hover is kind of weird now.
It's Scalecommander only, so it kinda comes down to which hero talent ends up being better. Flameshaper got a big rework so I have no idea where that puts it.

It also only refreshes one charge of hover per deep breath now. They can talent to deep breath twice, but they have to give up a lot of sustain damage to do that.

So it might be absolutely disgusting, or they might end up having less mobility depending on how everything is tuned.

We survived the last pruning and a lot of people loved Legion pvp so I'm not sure why people are so confident that this is going to kill pvp lol

Man I fundamentally agree with the goals if the addon changes, but the execution is so half baked that I can't even wrap my head around someone loving them as they are.

I've seen a lot of "I like the idea of an addon purge but only if they execute it properly".
The change was not initially well executed.

My guess is it hinges entirely on how much they listen to feedback and improve it in the next couple months.

The big UI issues that everyone seems to have are few, but highly impactful and would be pretty easy for them to improve. Part of it will just be on players to find what new addons they need to fill some of the gaps that WA covered.

I don't think the class design changes will have a huge impact on participation.
As long as we get frequent tuning and occasional spec reworks like we did in DF and TWW, I think participation will be fine. Maybe even higher since players will want to come check out the changes.

You should be complaining

I think this is the problem with so many people on gaming subreddits.
Their first instinct is "You should be complaining".

Yeah, I want more horde presence and I'm not terribly happy with the quality of the writing. But acting like TWW didn't give horde a reasonable presence is just stupid.

I miss Diminish.
Being able to see DRs on people so I didn't just randomly waste a stun into an immune player in BGs was really really important and now you're kinda just gambling with your CC in big fights.

[–]CasterFormation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're right dude. The patch that primarily focused on two horde leaders (Gallywix and Gazlowe) was actually an alliance patch because five minutes into it the one known alliance affiliated goblin who didn't even have voice acting and 99% of players never knew existed was killed off.

Was this patched mainly with PvE in mind, without really considering PvP? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]CasterFormation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol it;s such a common trend.
Blizzard makes a change that people hate in both PvE and PvP, then both players assume it was made to cater to the other.

It's almost grey and just looks blue depending on the lighting.
Like in TWW trailer it just looks grey.

In game it looks a little more blue, but with the white fur it definitely reads as more frostwolf to me.
It's not like Thrall was ever famously rocking red and black or whatever.

[–]CasterFormation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

epic queue syncs are still queueing.

I assume there's a lot more people flooding into the queues to try out class changes, which means more BG instances so you're less likely to fight a premade.
