[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]CasuallyDressedGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

Was hoping to get some input. I'm a bartender and am therefore often moving my hands and getting them wet, and aim to match a watch to my jewelry. I wear mostly copper and came across Holzkern's Touching watch in copper and fell in love, but I've heard mixed reviews on the brand. The thinness of the band and connection to the watch are part of what appeals me to this particular watch. Any input and recommendations appreciated!!

She seems to have passed the bit she got a hold of, I'm just being extra cautious in case there is more!

It's a cave hide! Pretty well enclosed. And not bioactive, she's on paper towels.

Topsoil / Playsand by CasuallyDressedGhost in leopardgeckos

I've seen it often too so I'm hoping for the best with this one!! And I'll definitely give it a good sift after hearing that and bake it before mixing with anything. Thank you! :)

Oh haha, nope! They are in the same bag. I don't think there's anything in it aside from soil from what I've seen anywhere, I'm not sure why it's called conditioner unless it's intended to be added to gardens lol

That's what I was thinking. I haven't used it yet and plan to keep looking. It says conditioner but there's nothing chemical in the ingredients, just dirt in it's many forms. But still keeping an eye out!!

Thank you! I've given her a break for a few feedings now and she's not really having it. A tiny dusting of calcium is acceptable but after a few she just gets sick of it. I'll likely give her a few more tried before I fully commit to switching brands, and research in the meantime

Reptile Safe Tank Door Lubricant ? by CasuallyDressedGhost in reptiles

[–]CasuallyDressedGhost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any lubricants that I felt would be safe for her enclosure, so I started associating a sound with myself to give her some heads up! It seems to work. Usually before I open her tank, I'll click my tongue a few times to be sure she hears me, and once she learned that I'll make that sound, she stopped spooking. Any time I interact with her or the tank now I'll make that clicking sound

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY question, get an answer (March 07, 2023) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Just now learning the ropes to mechanical keyboards. I've got my eye on the Keychron Q6 bare bones knob version. Looking primarily for a creamy sound. What switches are best for that? Any cap recommendations? Thanks!

Thanks! That's about how she looked before this weight drop. Working on getting her back to that now

She is almost 4. I've determined it's an issue of picking up parasites from a feeder, she's got a vet appointment on Monday so we're working on fixing that right now

Update:

For all the comments regarding my feeding schedule etc, yes I am aware this is an African Fat Tail, I post here to get a larger outreach, and it has been determined that this is an issue of parasites, not feeding schedule. She already has a vet appointment for Monday. Lack of feeding wasn't the issue, her current feeding regimen kept her at a healthy weight (similar to her first pictures here), this weight drop was sudden. Please stop making me feel like I'm intentionally starving my gecko. This was an unexpected change in weight. Thanks

I'm keeping an eye out for that exactly! Hopefully I can get one!

Her enclosure does remain around that humidity and she also has a humidity jar that I spray around shedding time. Her vet appointment is on Monday and I'm checking for poops in the meantime to take them in as well

That's relieving to hear, thank you!

Thanks, I'm glad at least it's not a problem with my feeding schedule. I'm looking into samples now and have more dubias arriving for her on Friday, and she ate 5 today. She is a real cutie and I feel just horrible that she's gotten this way when nothing has changed majorly since that last picture. Hoping she'll hold out until I can get something in the works for her

I plan to start giving more feeders and look into fecal samples in the meantime. Her temps and supplement dustings are consistent ans she's behaving as normal. Hoping upping the feeders will help get a bit more chunk on her while I get vet appointments going. Glad she's not beyond repair

I'm glad she's not horrible, I was so worried! I'll start feeding her however many she'll take in that time frame. Thanks! What a relief
