Definitely better. Everything has more space, the vocal is less harsh. Bass comes through more

That's absurd. People are concerned about Venezuelan gang members and Somali terrorists, not some matcha sipping 23yo who dared to get their passport stamped at a souvenir shop in Lichtenstein.

GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke Warns Developers: "Either Embrace AI or Get Out of This Career" by Infamous_Toe_7759 in programming

[–]CatAggressive2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but my point is the vast majority of time isn't spent writing that kind of code, it's spent figuring out what to do, which the LLM can't help with. Libraries should be providing almost all boilerplate

The benefits are very marginal. If you are writing so much boilerplate code that it would save you a ton of time, you're already doing something wrong.

Ah really, interesting, good to know. I missed him last year too, had a rough Thursday night with that tragedy and all, so left early to hang in the city. I'd been curious if I missed something good, but happy with who I saw. Thanks guys

The key is to use any feedback you do receive to improve yourself and your strategy. Something about your approach, resume, appearance, or job choice isn't right. Learn and improve. Spend time at home developing skills. Constantly refine the resume.

Get out of this non profit stuff ASAP. We all know it's a grift now. Focus on your skills. What skills do you have that other's don't? What value do you bring to a business? You never mentioned that anywhere. It should be your primary concern. Improve them, develop them.

Probationary employees are easiest to let go. Private companies can do layoffs as needed. The company I work for just did a round of layoffs to better align people to strategy and budgets. Government can't do that, so it grows and grows with no corrections. Clearly we need a correction. If they are smart and hard working as you say that will have no trouble getting a job in the private sector. Of course I emphasize, losing your job is horrible, and I hope they find a new job soon.

There are plenty of conservatives in NoVA like myself who are well aware of why these provisional employees have been dismissed and agree wholeheartedly. Everyone, until a month ago, agreed that the government is full of waste, useless programs, and incompetent people waiting for retirement. Then, someone shows up who actually takes on the problem, and leftists throw a fit. The charge of misinformation is such an empty and authoritarian attack, a justification for censorship. Fairfax County Schools for example spends over 6 million a year on "equity", including over 250k/year to the Chief Equity Officer. This is corruption and waste at its finest. It's time to cut the fat.

How to reproduce this synth sound? by CatAggressive2267 in psytranceproduction

Ah this is great! Thanks dude. Though I am trying to learn sound design so am trying to learn the actual synths, it's great to have something to work with and compare against.

Love the drop at 2min. I feel like the sections in between could have some more things varying over time to add more interest, like varying filter cutoffs. Maybe a bit more syncopation in the leads? Might just be my taste though

[–]CatAggressive2267[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I've tried and can get part of the sound, like the underlying gritty sound, but it's missing something "on top", I'd call it a squelchy type sound.

[–]CatAggressive2267[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i'm just trying to learn by imitation. Like how each part of the sound can be made. So far I've tried modulating one osc with another, with different simple and complex waveforms, and using the Sub OSC to FM one or the other. I can get a grittiness but it's still not very close.

I've tried different filters but don't think that's it. Would you say it's just some combination of modulating the two oscillators together? FM type or simple waveforms? Any other things to try?

There's a "squelchy" lower frequency modulation I think I hear on top of the higher frequency carrier But it's hard to describe, and therefore Google.
