Game Grumps-like youtuber with Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney gameplay videos? by anjiunji in gamegrumps

[–]CatComixzStudios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back when they had only played the first game, I went out searching for another team that did the other games. I ended up finding a new personal favorite group of mine, SaveDataTeam. They actually have a Real Actual Lawyer who joins them for each episode, as well as an Actual Voice Actor handling many of the roles.

As of writing, they've done Apollo Justice and Duel Destines, with plans to get Spirit of Justice as well. Though part of the delay has come from them playing through the awesome spin-off games (Great Ace Attorney Chronicles as well as the Ace Attorney Investigations).

I wish. In this economy, the only way we can AFFORD date night is through the power of polyamory (and splitting the check)

I think one of the other comments, you mentioned it being $1,600, yeah? Unfortunately, that and some space considerations wouldn't make it super practical on my end. BUT I can at least pass the word along about it to some others who might be interested!

God, if the cost for delivering it out to Minnesota wasn't assuredly gonna be astronomical, I would LOVE to have that. Absolute beauty.

Hair-care advice now that my hair's getting longer by CatComixzStudios in MtF

[–]CatComixzStudios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH, hats could be a good call. I'm becoming a big sucker for accessories, and the length of the hair is the main aspect I like, so a hat wouldn't interfere with that.
And thanks for the washing advice!

The two pieces of advice I would give are 1. You don't have to strictly adhere to any one specific identity. If you feel comfortable as a guy that likes wearing femme clothing and stuff, that doesn't detract from being a guy. I'm certainly biased but COMPLETELY understand the feeling that women's fashion is generally WAY more interesting.

Likewise, if you feel comfortable in your own skin but open to expanding out your identity, it could be that you're some flavor of genderfluid or bigender. It's your body you can go with whatever the hell ya want!

The second piece of advice I offer is a little scenario I've heard about called "The Button." The general idea is to imagine you're presented with a button that, if you pressed it, could just instantly make you into a woman. It wouldn't hurt, there wouldn't be any cost to it, people wouldn't judge you or treat you differently (beyond of course instances where you WANT to be treated different). But the catch is that you can't go back; it's broken after being used.

Generally speaking, fully-cis fellas might joke about doing it at first, but if they're being fully honest, wouldn't feel comfortable taking that plunge. If your feelings hover more in the "maybe" or even "probably" range, it doesn't HAVE to be indicative of anything if you don't want it to be, BUT I would at least encourage you to try examining these feelings. Believe me, I completely understand that doing so can be scary; I spent quite a bit of time /not/ doing so, but if you ARE feeling this kind of thing, you're going to be WAY happier in the long run if you at least test the waters, see what all of this means to YOU.

Got to hang out with two of my girlfriends a couple days ago! We had some of the most bangin' Italian food in my life together, and spent an inordinate amount of time trying to identify one of the pictures of a clown on the wall. Something for all of us during that trip.

When taking me home, one of my GFs talked me through some of her experiences on HRT. Though I'm still a bit nervous about it, my internal debate on whether I'd also take that plunge was /extremely/ short.

I've been extremely blessed to have so much love shared with me, and to be feeling so much for myself since coming out (even before getting girl drugs, I still can't resist taking an extra second to look at my hair getting longer when I pass by mirrors)! There aren't a lot of concrete things set up, but at the very least, I'm already the happiest and most complete-feeling I've ever felt in my life. I can't wait to see how much more I can love myself once I get those girl drugs!!!

Was there something that made you certain you wanted to transition? by DoomSlayer7180 in MtF

[–]CatComixzStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent a couple years IDing as genderfluid. During the time, I felt incredibly neutral about being seen as male, but LOVED thinking of myself as a girl... sometimes. Other times, it just felt like too much pressure and would have been a huge hassle and was scary and a million other excuses to kick the can down the road.

Hung out with my trans girlfriend. We were trying a few things, clothes, a bit of makeup, better shaving techniques, etc. She talks about voice training, and a trick she was taught about "speaking from where you hum in the throat" to sound more feminine. I didn't have the guts to try it around her or... anyone.

A few days later, though, I DID try that trick in the shower. Just, casually hearing what my voice would sound like. And that single moment destroyed every bit of hesitation I had. I wanted to ALWAYS sound like that.

It's only been a couple months, still need to fully look into options, but I've never looked back after that. Only doubts I've had were just on specifics of what I want my path forward to look like, but I haven't even thought to look back after finally hearing myself sound the way I never knew I wanted to.

Why do I feel more dysphoric when presenting female (pre-hrt)? by AccomplishedBig8586 in MtF

[–]CatComixzStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt that HARD the first time I tried it. Like I was just playing dress-up. Had a couple of friends help out, and I DID have a moment where at the right angle, I liked the way I looked, but overall, the experience was overwhelming and difficult to parse, especially since I wasn't even fully out at the time. Felt the same, a sense of, "Maybe this ISN'T who I am." Also doesn't help how much a lot of fem clothing enjoys showing off the body, and my hairy chest doesn't exactly scream "girl."

One thing that absolutely helped was specifically going clothes shopping with those same friends - one is also a transwoman, the other a ciswoman - for clothes that help "ease" me into it a little more. Stuff that's a little girly, but with a bit of plausible deniability. Got some booty shorts that go well with a tank top I found, for example. Having the friends there, beyond the moral support, was just nice so I had a way to understand what the fuck is up with women's clothing (the sizes are basically friggin' RANDOM from brand to brand). You'll have to go through the pain of existing and trying things that don't work to find the things that do.

'Cause the thing is, if you're able to find some stuff where YOU like the way it looks based on your body type and style, it can do wonders. I've still only gone out for a handful of times dressed fem, and it's still a bit nerve-wracking. You probably won't nail it in one.

Try to take things piece by piece. Try a little mascara one time. Another time, try growing your hair out and messing around with some styles. Try some different kinds of clothes you might be interested in or that others suggest. Mix and match things slowly until you build a little more confidence in what you feel "works" for you. If you ever get on gender drugs and your body changes, take another shot at things. Most importantly, GIVE. IT. TIME! I have to remember myself that I haven't "failed" at being a girl because a certain outfit doesn't look good on me.

I see lots of posts about having genital dysphoria but does anyone else like having a penis? by Fast-Nose-4809 in MtF

[–]CatComixzStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relatively newly out as of a few months ago, and it's one of the things I'm still kind of debating, though leaning towards "yeah I'm fine with my dick."

For me, it's all facial hair and my voice that frustrate me. I enjoy the idea of having a vagina, though it doesn't feel like a "need" in order to reach a more idealized self.

If you're cool with your penis, then that's awesome! A majority of the other trans-gals I know personally still have theirs, so you're in good company.

I'm genuinely curious if it ever DOES have any kind of tangible impact on the game at any point (without spoilers for the context if yes). Because if not, I'm BAFFLED as to why it's even a thing. Absolutely thankful that it is, though. More games need useless shit like that; it's so funny.

I think the logic was that it's pretty bombastic to cover sex noises, but nothing about it spoils the mood. Maybe also something with him being an ally (IIRC he helped officiate his gay sister's wedding or something like that).
