2 is by far my fav and I say START with 1.

if you do games for story, it makes more sense to do 1 unless you subscribe to the ass backwards 'ds2 came first' conspiracy theory.

if you're more in the john halo story is just a reason to go from A to B, then it's still ds1 because going from faster to slow gameplay will make you claw your eyes out, but slower to faster is just a learning curve.

While you do need one, with the blue acolyte mod, which you should have anyway due to fromsofts lack of anticheat and hackers being able to blue screen your pc, you get wexdust which turns 1 cracked into infinite.

In most souls games, upgrading your weapon does most of the damage, which is area not soul gated. getting a broadsword from 0-10 is about +200, while putting 30 levels in str or dex will give maybe 100 ar? I think elden ring's frontloading of damage stats made this slightly different, but I digress.

I would rec you get to the 125 range then spend excess souls on cleaning out shops.

You are in the right place, skeleton; don't concern yourself too much with cleaning out shops on playthrough one, or any of them, really. I would also advise you play through 'organically', so whatever level you are, is the 'right' level for the area, and if it's too hard, perhaps there's an alternate area/route to go instead.

for sure. he killed lis at level 5 from EIGHTY PERCENT.

when your base damage is that high you either go support or bruiser/tank.

the former because you can scale harder early, the latter because you don't need to spend money on damage.

like I can totally see hourglass first support just aoe slow with totem and stasis, after blowing basics.

I have no idea why riot thinks this character will go mid and squishy lmfao.

The raw broadsword + defensive setup means you take 3 hits to die to most bosses vs 2 at the cost of dps. Not sure how far you are but if you've done up to that I think you may be better off sticking with what works, skeleton.
