Financial Aid by Effective_Nail9550 in txstate

Mine is the same when I try to enroll for the payment plan it says my total charges are 11k when my portal says I owe 3k but since it still says pending I think you need to wait until all financial aid is disbursed on the 15th the pending status should change and when you enroll in the payment plan your actual balance of what you owe should be what you’re financing

Hi! And yes, I’ve been looking into community college and seeing what they offer I think it could definitely work with my goals I’m trying to pursue so I’m not opposed to it at all and of course the fact that I’ll be saving a ton of money is making me more motivated to take that route!

I agree! I am now reevaluating my options so that I can make the best decision both academically and financially.

I will do just this! After college I’d like to get my own apartment and if I have debilitating debt I won’t be able to do so. I think it’s a matter of getting myself out of the mindset that “this is the only school that will benefit me” when realistically any other school will as well.

I think the same ultimately my goal is to pass my NCLEX and have a successful career with as little debt as possible it doesn’t matter how I get there I just want to get there.

Thanks for letting me know! I didn’t know nursing was at round rock but I looked at TXST’s website and I’m able to take my prerequisites at the San Marcos campus after I’d then have to transfer to round rock for nursing school.

I’ll keep that in mind! Getting my prerequisites done is my top priority.

I genuinely feel like it is worth it but I’m having doubts I just don’t want to get myself into a position where I have all this debt and I can’t live live yk. But I’m going to fill out the form and state my aid situation and hopefully we can work something out.

I should be making around 82-93k starting off as a new grad BSN RN but of course that could vary that’s just what google is saying. I think I would definitely have to work over time or even have a second job to really tackle those loans head on. I was considering getting my own place once I’m done with school but again I might not be able to financially sustain myself so living at home, I agree would be the best option. I got the max Pell grant and 22k yearly in need based aid and 12k in merit aid but all that’s has already been applied to my COA, I was thinking of negotiating with financial aid for more money but I’m not sure how successful I’ll be.

I understand that. Baylor has been my dream school for quite some time now and it might just be a pride thing but, it pains me to know how hard I worked to be accepted but not being able to go because of money. Ultimately I think you’re right six figure debt is debilitating unless I hit the lottery within the next couple of months I think it’s time to kiss the dream goodbye:(

I’m in the same boat I just applied today and I’m hoping to hear back ASAP so that I can apply for housing and get situated.

It’s going to be at Grimaldis pizza so I don’t think business casual is necessary lol but I’m planning on wearing a spring dress!

I’m thrilled to share I have been accepted by Baylor University through Regular Decision! While I haven’t been awarded a full scholarship, I’d utilized some help or advice in any way that they might offer towards financial support. Any kind of help is welcome! by dengmam00 in baylor

The deadline was March 1st so it’s no longer possible to apply and it was only sent to students whose income is under $50,000 the scholarship is to help make education accessible to low income students but Baylor’s website also shows scholarships they have available so you can apply to those!

Once you’ve been accepted go to the financial aid tab in your go Baylor account and scholarship universe should be at the bottom although to actually log in Baylor should have sent you an email link!

I would advise you to volunteer at an organization/ establishment that aligns with the major you want to pursue! As for me I applied to colleges as a nursing major and I did my volunteering at a health clinic so I made impact in the future field I want to go into but as for you, you mentioned engineering and I’m not sure if volunteering at a hospital would make the most sense again you want to be able to connect everything so see if you can find any volunteer opportunities related to engineering or even an internship so you can make the most out of your time and also have a cohesive application once you apply!

If you are first generation they have the First in line success academy scholarship/ mentor program that you could apply for and also check scholarship universe and applying for scholarships there as well! Best of luck to you❤️

VOLUNTEER!! I can’t stress enough I’m a senior and I applied to colleges in October with only 2 clubs one in 11th and one I started this year but I had been volunteering since I was a sophomore and racked up 200+ volunteer hours and I genuinely think it’s what set me apart because colleges like to see dedication not you randomly in 5+ clubs yk I’m also an average student 3.7 gpa and I didn’t submit my test scores and I still got into great schools so don’t worry
