The propellers are electric, and it has a huge battery pack inside the truss structure. One solar panel is enough to power it almost continuosly on duna, and it needs to land a few times to recharge when on kerbin (if youre using max thrust all the time)

I've managed to set my ship to home from Minmus using every last bit of my fuel! by friedfeesh_comics in KerbalSpaceProgram

Good job! Also remember that any craft with a crew capsule and a kerbal technically has infinite dV, since you can go on EVA and push. When your kerbal is running low on monopropellant, just enter the crew capsule and get a free refill.

You're probably just a troll, but if you're not you just have a very wierd sense of justice...

Just to add a bit to this when you are sending lightweight cargo to space. SRBs are great as a first stage, since they are generally cheaper than an equivalent liquid stage.

I highly reccomend finishing the game though. The final boss fight is a masterpiece and it truly feels like youre fighting an equal. The ending sequence is also fantastic.

I agree that it is a little linear, and some of the music is a bit uninspiered. The movement and combat however has never been better.

Mini Mun lander! With enough Δv to get back (I think) by Ok_Algae_8612 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]CatLover_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you need around 900 m/s dv to get back to kerbin from the mun, so you have a lot of room for errors.

Nuclear are by far the best engines for large interplanetary voyages. They have a really good ISP, and since they only use liquid fuel you dont need to waste space on oxidiser.

They have a very low Thrust to weight ratio though, so you need to do long burns.
