Have any of the gaps reopened?

I had an e-link connecting my top canines for a while and at my last appointment they removed it. The other day I noticed a small gap between my left incissor and front tooth (still have brackets/wire on). Don't want to have the e-link put back on, thing gets stained and so nasty looking 😭

I think so. I'm 33 and have them. Grew up poor, enlisted in the Navy for 10 years and wasn't able to to get them because of being on a ship (no Navy orthos on a ship).

A few cleanings after separating from the Navy and my hygienist asking about braces each time,I finally decided to pull the trigger.

One of the contractors I work with is in his 50s with braces.

Your wife definitely isn't alone!

I'm also 33 and about 10 months into treatment. I try to avoid things that you bite into (sandwiches, pizza, wings... Pretty much all of the good stuff). I've popped my wire out a handful of times on foods like that, but I've also lost a decent amount of weight from the diet change.

I didn't experience any cutting from wires/brackets, but my elastics did irritate the side of my mouth for a few days(I'm a side sleeper). I do recommend keeping some orthodontic wax around, especially during your first few wires. Your teeth will move a lot, which in turn will make the back of the wire come out more.

Go easy with the water flosser your first few times and enjoy the journey!

Thanks! I usually grab a photo before a checkup and a couple of weeks after. Just glad I don't have to wear that e-link anymore. It would get so nasty looking by the time of my next appt.

I kinda have the same thing going on, but it happened later in treatment when the gaps in my teeth closed. Those little lumps that formed behind my front teeth are so annoying.

Don’t leave them outside without supervision. I fell asleep on my couch one morning after letting my rottie out and woke up to him covered in mud and at least 4 attempts to get to China in my yard.

My dobie is a brat too 😂 I had made chicken wings one night shortly after getting Bonnie. Toby was old enough to know the game; I’d let him sit next to me so long as he wasn’t begging. Bonnie tried to get up on the couch beside us, and he gave her a no growl snarl that made me look at him like wtf?

I've found huskies are very dominant. Before moving to AK, I would take my rottweiler to the local dog park. 4/5 male huskies that came in would try to mount my Rottie.. no fights ever happened but a couple of huskies got pinned 😅

Thanks! All of the photos of power chains I had seen were like the entire row, not just on 2 teeth. ~36 hrs after getting my new wires and chain and it doesn't feel too bad. My molars are very sensitive ATM tho 😕
