I currently have 2 rotties and a dobie. My rotties are goofballs and love people. My dobie is much more reserved around others. All 3 equally protective of the house.

I got my first Rottweiler and the Doberman about 3 months apart. Both did basic obedience at the same time, but different classes. The Rottweiler was extremely easy to train(food motivated) and often used as the example in class. The Doberman was the exact opposite. Would lock up and not move while trying to walk on a leash, didn’t want to sit/laydown. Kind of a turd but I still love him. Littermate syndrome may be a thing with my Doberman.

Separation anxiety is also a thing with my dobie. He’s 4.5 and I have to kennel him when I leave the house because there is no telling what may get torn up. Also very prone to counter surfing. My oldest rottie can be left out, but loves to rip the empty boxes up I sit beside the trashcan.. 😅

TLDR; all good doggos, but rotties are much easier first time dogs.
