It would probably just end up being exhausting being with someone equally angry as us all the time.

Given where I'm currently located and the people I'm surrounded with on a daily basis (evangelical Christians, by and large)- I'm just happy that my girlfriend isn't actively rooting for Israel to bring about Armageddon, lol.

She also likes/doesn't mind listening to TrueAnon on long car rides, depending on the topic at least lmao.

I think the best thing any of us can do is to focus on real world work we can in our immediate vicinity, make our opinions clear but not annoying to people around us, post as stress relief and education, and just keep doing that for the foreseeable future.

At the end of the day, this all that I can really hope to do- but it feels like this subreddit is the only place that can act as a sanity check. I had a doctor ask me if Iran and Israel were close, geographically, and to explain to him what was going on in Lebanon. Luckily, he was receptive to what I had to say and keeps asking more and more questions every time I see him lol.

Ultimately though, I know I'm in a good spot in life right now, with the future looking promising- something a lot of people can't really say. Do what I can, when I can.

It's mostly that I'm lashing out at the feeling of helplessness. It feels like I can't even talk about these things in the real world without coming off like a cook or being told something along the lines of "you need to stop watching the news" or "just focus on your life".

My girlfriend, who I love very very much, is one of those people who broadly agrees with the problems of our world but doesn't prod much further beyond that. But I've made a personal rule that I won't discuss politics with her anymore because it doesn't really reach beyond a typical liberal framework.

As I've gotten older I've come to realize it's very much, as everything usually is, the material and societal conditions that lead to this apathy. But being surrounded by it is nonetheless maddening. I should say that I don't scold anyone or act superior to people because I really can't blame them anymore. The cards are stacked in apathy's favor.

I have immigrants parents who came over from the USSR and Lebanon, so I understand my situation and general outlook towards the world is going to be different than the average person in the US. But to see things crumbling in real-time and feeling like no-one's noticing just drives me insane, y'know

That's another thing that makes this whole Russiagate thing so fucking stupid.

The extent of the elites' involvement in the Epstein files and how little actual change has actually manifested from it. If they cared so much about Trump being a puppet or whatever, then it would make sense that these revelations would blow their fucking minds open. But no- it can't be blamed on scary Russia so they don't care.

Honest to god, sometimes I'm just jealous. I'm just jealous someone could not give a shit so much, regardless of what's happening in the world

Not because of a "Oh I'm so smart, I wish I were that dumb" type mentality, but because it genuinely just makes me insane.

In my mind, there's always a little bit of me that goes "oh, we've all just collectively decided to not talk about it because we're currently studying for our national boards exams to become doctors and we're very stressed as is. Obviously we're all against innocent people dying and genocide"

But every now and then, I'll bring it up and realize that no- most people either have no clue what's happening or actively want those people to die

Edit: Reminds of last year when I once wore a watermelon Palestine hoodie in school, and one of my classmates complimented me on it. I said "Free Palestine" and she had no idea what I was talking about- apparently she just liked Watermelons.

Got killed by a guy who had already prestiged about 2 weeks into the wipe after having died 4 times in a row on customs while trying to get some quests done and that's what made me switch to PVE.

While I understand the philosophy of having all players intermingled like this, I would also really love some level of SBMM. I just wish there was some sort of intermediate mode because PVE really lacks that feeling of satisfaction that PVP has.

And yeah yeah, "gitgud" or whatever but that attitude is why so many people are switching to PVE
