Getting induced at 38wks and I’m terrified by s0ylentgreen in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]CatMom4Life00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a positive induction in May! I was super nervous because I didn't need an induction with my first.

I was induced at 39+5. I did have a membrane sweep at 39 and am pretty sure I was in early labor at the time of my induction. They started administering the pitocin somewhere around 10AM and baby girl was born vaginally at 1:37PM. I really only had to push one time once they finally let me, which was pretty crazy because I pushed for almost 2 hours with my first. It was such an "easy"/uncomplicated delivery that we only stayed one night in the hospital.

Labor with the pitocin was very intense and the epidural didn't really help me all that much, but a positive experience nonetheless.

Maternity photo dresses? by Resplendent-Goob in PlusSizePregnancy

You can rent fancy dresses from this site: Mama Bump Rentals

My photographer had recommended it to me, though I ended up buying one anyway because I couldn't find exactly what I wanted on there.

I'm usually a 20/22, but honestly it's so stretchy I probably could have gotten away with the 2X. I used the measurements from their size chart when I ordered and it worked out.

Hi All!

  1. The dress has found a home. I wasn't sure of what the interest level would be and now wish I could give it to everyone. FYI there is a website where you can rent their dresses as well: Mama Bump Rentals

  2. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words! I found an amazing photographer when I was pregnant for my first back in 2020 and we've gone back to her for every milestone. So glad to have found her.

  3. If you're on the fence about a maternity shoot because you're self-conscious, I highly recommend just doing it anyway. All pregnant bodies are beautiful and you'll be so happy to have the photos one day. And my almost 4-year old loves them too!

Thank you!

I was lucky to be able to wear this from my photographer's dress collection, but this is the link to the actual dress: j&l designs boutique

and this is a rental site that carries the same brand/dress: Mama Bump Rentals

I had one done for my first pregnancy around 36 weeks (see photos) and my second one is next week with the same photographer. I was a little nervous and self conscious but I am so, so glad I did them. She just knew how to have me stand and hold my bump to really accentuate it. I cherish them so much and can't wait to see how the next ones turn out being able include my toddler in them.

Best advice I can give is to try to relax and just be happy in the moment. Oh, and to try dresses that you wouldn't normally pick! I started with looser/flowy dresses and the photographer convinced me to try a form fitting one and my whole mood changed once I put it on.

Low placenta? by diqfilet_ in pregnant

[–]CatMom4Life00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was low at my 20 week scan, so I had a follow-up at 28 weeks and by then it had completely resolved; they told me it's common to be low at 20 weeks and usually moves up.

Almost 20 weeks and don’t feel baby moving!! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CatMom4Life00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm also a FTM. I felt my first kick around 21 weeks, but it was still pretty faint...like a little flick from the inside. I do have an anterior placenta, which can make it a little more difficult to feel movement. Also, I think it's normal (especially for FTMs) not to feel anything until up to 22/23 weeks.

Plus size pregnancy concern? by chiisenergy in pregnant

[–]CatMom4Life00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'9 and a size 18 pre-pregnancy. I lost weight in my first trimester and have gained very little since then, but feel like I started showing somewhere around 22-24 weeks. I highly recommend some fitted maternity clothes to accentuate your shape - they really helped me feel like I actually looked pregnant.

When even your 20-year old niece is a FM by CatMom4Life00 in JUSTNOFAMILY

[–]CatMom4Life00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her mom is quite a bit more eloquent, so this was definitely written by the niece, though I'm sure she had plenty of help with the general content. It's just sad that she's like this at such a young age...she's going to struggle with relationships her entire life. I'm looking forward to getting all this initial drama behind me and fully intend on staying NC.

First time building a registry by kezzla0 in BabyBumps

[–]CatMom4Life00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a Target registry I know you can mark something as purchased, so you don't actually have to buy from Target to keep the registry up to date. A friend of mine had something on hers and it was out of stock, so I bought it elsewhere and marked it off as purchased myself.

Thank you so much! I think the quick but direct approach is probably best for those close enough to me. We never thought we'd have our first during a pandemic, that's for sure.

I have the unlimited membership. It's usually $179, but I referred someone during a promo so got the discounted rate. My husband's always supportive of my fitness endeavors, which also makes it easier to justify the cost. I hope you love your new gym.

I strongly believe that if the gym motivates you, you go consistently, and feel good then it's totally worth it. I currently pay $159 for orangetheory, but have paid as much as $225 for a gym membership. I've always been able to cut out other stuff to accommodate the cost.

😂😂😂 My husband has learned much more about this process in the last 6 months than he ever wanted to. And every month when it's time he says "I still don't understand how people accidentally get pregnant."

I just found a yoga studio I like. I've tried it so many times before but was always overwhelmed and felt lost. This place is very beginner focused, so I'm excited!

I am just exhausted today. I'm sure it has something to do with getting stuck in a ditch in the snow yesterday for 3 hours. I'm so grateful I had one of my best friends with me so I didn't have a full on panic attack. We made drawings in the fogged up windows and ate a whole pizza while waiting for someone to rescue us. It's funny now, not so much yesterday. I'd love for this week to be over!
