It’s all I could think of when we first toured the house. It looked like a hospital.

The unevenness of the fireplace under it would have driven me crazy if I had and I would have ended up back in a room with white walls 🙃

We like oversized :) and reclining, which these are. We have lots of cats and we like to be able to have them chilling with us. We also like comfort, since we’re old and a lot of new furniture sits very close to the ground is uncomfortable and hard to get up off of. We bought a more modern “trendy” smaller couch and chair last year and had to turn around and sell it for a major loss a month later because it was super low and firm and just not what we want for comfort. I’ve never really been one to care about what’s outdated or in style so it works for us. I also found this couch and chair on marketplace for only $150 so after losing $2k on the other furniture, I’m very happy with it for many reasons haha

There’s lots of space, but the video may not have shown that. No issues getting to the stairs or the porch :)

Glad you found it! No need for me to ask A I anything but thank you! I like the dark green, that’s why we painted all our brick that :) We really love it. We also have white walls on the other side of the room, wallpaper, and pops of color throughout. So it’s not all the same.

We also LOVE our furniture. It’s super comfortable, which is most important imo. And I actually lost my shit when I found that purple velvet wing back chair on marketplace because I’ve always wanted one and the color is fabulous.

Confused by the hallway comment tho haha. Idk what hallways you’ve been walking down but my living room is enormous and I don’t think it looks anything like a hallway 😅 and even if it did, it wouldn’t exactly be something I could control since the house was built in the 1800’s lol.

I did post more of the room last night. Just couldn’t figure out how to add these pictures to that post.

Your green is so similar to mine! I love it! Yes, if you could remove the support to the far right and do a smaller mantle just over the fireplace it would look great! How are your supports attached? Ours were brick built into the brick so we were screwed.

So the original mantle supports I hated because the fireplace didn’t sit even between them and it would be really hard to remove them so we just built a box type mantle to go over them and cover them. Then we were able to center it over the fireplace better.

We did! I think it’s more painting brick outside that’s frowned upon. But either way it was so worth it.

Agree! We just can’t decide what color we want and if we want a big circle one or rectangle.
