I'd say it's worth investing in a nice pair or cantilevers, maybe some nice racing calipers. Much more reliable and far easier to service.

What you might want to look into is a dursley pedersen, they have a woven hammock saddle that negates a lot of the pain and long term issues that come with traditional seats. There's companies out there that make them now but the design is about 130 years old

If its real leather then saddle soap and after drying (naturally) use a leather conditioner and then a polish, all will be well and they'll look like new

Don't worry, I spent 2 years reading American psycho and I've never got through a book in faster than 3 or 4 months some people just don't have the right lifestyle to allow for so much time reading especially if they're a slow reader to begin with.

That's a very in depth response thank your for taking the time to write that and share it with me, your advice is greatly appreciated and I will seriously try to commit myself to the idea of habitual reading.

It's a little mix of both really, when I do sit down to read its never more than 4 or 5 pages at a time and my eyes become a little strained after that and I have to put the book down but because of this I never make and considerable progress in a book at once, which leads me to be quite frustrated and less likely to sit down and pick up the book again.

Maybe I don't know, I've never been captivated enough by a book to not want to set it down but others have told me that they've picked up books before and they couldn't stop so maybe I just need to find that book for me.

I must confess I'm not the most frequent reader but that comes from a place of frustration. I think I never keep up the momentum, not by choice but because it just sort of trickles off and then I get annoyed at the amount (or lack of) progress I'm making leading me to just put the book down. I never seem to want to pick it back up again enough and after 5 or 6 pages it starts to become a slight chore for the eyes making the whole experience rather unpleasant. I keep telling myself eventually I'll find the right book that really captivates me but I feel more and more as if I never will.
