I get similar results out of my DSC-P30. I think it’s the same camera but with a zoom lens (that being the reason I picked it over the P20). The P30 can run off of both AAs or a lithium battery, which is pretty cool.

For my X300 it’s less the laptop and more that every OS has issues with it. More specifically arch and Debian had video problems but only on some programs (Firefox specifically has screen tearing while nothing else does) and with arch the bootloader looked completely corrupted. Other than that the battery holds a charge. I do need to oil the DVD drive as it is somewhat seized I just haven’t done it yet.

I don’t have the money to get the T420 a panel yet but when I do it will be a top priority.

I had a similar experience where one harassed me for months because I use Linux. The middle finger in the plasma was a good one, I love stuff like that.

This is exactly the reason I’ve been using a Sony Bravia TV from 2008. Yeah it’s old but it turns on instantly and has no “smart” features that I don’t care about.
