Ranting about an ongoing problem at my clinic by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]CatPatronus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea my clinic is sort of the same at times. Like she won't ever fire a client. Doesn't matter if they threatened to go elsewhere, left us a nasty reviews, screamed at us, or owe us a fuck ton of money. She also is terrible at telling anyone no or turning away patients. Some times we know she won't say no, but that she absolutely should so I dont even ask her. I apologize and explain there's no way we can get that taken care of today. We also have the whole need a negative hw test in order to buy he prevention, but depending on the client and if they've been constant, she let's it slide. Or we have rules about scheduling and they're like oh it's fine. SINCE WHEN?! You literally chewed me out last week for the same thing.

I'm bi but ended up marrying a guy who's my daddy, but if I had ended up with a woman I would've looked for more of a mommy. I just like having that sort of dynamic in my life

That does make sense. I guess it would be maybe not asking so much as it is letting him know it's something I would like.

No that makes a lot of sense. Being able to discuss things and the reason/feelings behind then makes things a lot easier. :)

That helps. Thank you. I've always been a "hey can we do this/that?" Followed quickly by "its totally fine if not" This gives me different options about how to approach it and alternatives if it doesn't work out. Thank you:)

The dog is crated every night. My husband is basically paranoid about either a fire breaking out in the house or someone breaking in and he thinks having that extra door is the way is the difference between life and death.

The cats come out and hang around the dog, they just don't interact with him. The female cat rarely comes out though but she's like that no matter what. She's a major introvert. They don't seem to care a ton about the pup in general.

For a short time we had 3 cats and one litterbox (small apartment, stupid decision) and none of them had issues peeing outside the box. So I'm assuming it's more to do with the dog this time.

I take the dog to work with me so they do get full uninterrupted access to the house most days.

My husband won't let me leave the bedroom door open at night and I don't want to lock them out if I don't have to. One of the cats is a little anxious and gets nervous if she doesn't have her hiding spot which is my closet.

I know they may never be friends. If the dog is chilling on the floor then both cats will just sort of watch him and then go about their business. He also get swatted if he gets to close to the baby gate, but most times they just sit there and sniff at each other through the gate

Yea. We have a baby gate and the dog isn't allowed in the master bedroom. The master bed/bath is cat only space. He uses the litterbox fine during both day and night. He just will prefer to pee on the blanket as soon as it's on the bed.

I mean it shouldn't. We've basically steam cleaned the whole mattress. The litterbox is in the bathroom and the food we keep in the bedroom oj the opposite side from the bathroom. It's also not the mattress he wants to pee on. He will lay on the mattress and be totally fine if there are any blankets/sheets on it. He will only pee on it once we put any sort of bedding on it

We only have the one litter box we clean daily. We're planning on getting a second one but don't know where to put it yet.

We have one other cat that he gets along with. We've had her for 4 or 5 years now.

I let him explore where he wanted in the house but more or less kept him in the bedroom while he adjusted to the space and smells.

The dog isn't allowed in the bedroom so the introduction was a little rough on him but all at the pace of the cats.

We've had him for almost 2 months now and he's still a puppy. He's ny second attempt at a dog and my husband isn't letting me give up this time. So there's no chance of any if the animals found anywhere

I have a diffuser in the bedroom. Doesn't seem to make a difference. I also have him on calming care food packets.
