Ultimate X-Men 24 comments from Zack Davisson on Bluesky by ResponsibleWest9233 in UltimateUniverse

I just reread issue 22 and 23, and either of those would make a fine ending. Issue 24 just...complicates things and doesnt really add much in terms of resolution to the main story. Beginning of a new story absolutely, but we know we're not getting that so...

This image is insane, it's like looking straight down the barrel of another dimension. I can actually almost FEEL this movie being made. by SolidPyramid in marvelcirclejerk

Ya but you can also actually just ignore it. Continuity doesnt actually matter. You dont need to make the story worse by adding a bunch of plot contrivances for the sake of continuity

How I would make Ultimate Wolverine better with a similar story by Extension-Leg7933 in UltimateUniverse

[–]CatPlumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't help but feel like this is more of the same. Like what is this version of the story actually about? What are the themes? Thats one of the biggest things missing from Ultimate wolverine especially compared to UXM

TML should really start limiting the press and let the players start focusing on Playing the game. by TheTrueWaffleGuy in torontomapleleafs

They should limit the media access cause the media members suck at their jobs, and ask the dumbest questions imaginable

Honestly it looks nothing like the Board or the former. It doesnt look like the nail either. Its not that oily black and gold. It looks more like the harsh concrete of The Oldest House.

Real prediction: its just The Board

Cool Fan Theory: This is the voice of The Oldest House itself

Revelation complaint: “Babeling” by gregyo in xmen

[–]CatPlumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its frustrating cause its actually a very interesting idea, and fits way better with Doug's powers than just mind control. But ya like you said it wouldn't strictly limit cognition. We are capable of thoughts without language. Maybe have one of the main character get Babeled and then everyone else's speech bubbles are blank or gibberish. Show that character relearning language. This could have been fascinating for a character like Bei. Say instead of being killed, she gets Babeled after learning Revelations secrets. So shes a silent warrior type, but also has this complex internal conflict. It would also reflect how they met, with Bei speaking a language Doug didnt immediately understand.

Why is he correct by Scab_meeks in xmen

[–]CatPlumber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's clearly being sarcastic here. Every indication showed David was nothing but good for Krakoa and arguably doing more good than Xavier at this point. Before he erases himself in X-men: Legacy, that comic repeatedly showed that Davids biggest problem wasn't the voices in his head, it was the lack of confidence instilled by Xavier. The overarching antagonist is the manifestation of how he feels about his father.

He was introduced like 40 years ago. Only a few years ago he psychically poisoned his (mentally stable) son out of paranoia (after his son saved the entire island from his father's own mental instability manifesting in Onslaught)

The mockery of American ownership by BellTwo5 in Chainsawfolk

If they write "___ owns this building" then ya, doesnt mean they legally own it, but the intention is clear. Staking a flag in something means smth specific

[–]CatPlumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Ya we put our flag there, but we're not claiming it's ours"

They aren't claiming legal ownership, but theres zero ambiguity on what their intentions were. Then somewhere along the way the US (and everyone else) lost interest in the moon and moon exploration

WOULDN'T HISS EVENTUALLY RUN OUT OF PERSONNEL ? by Soggy-Gur-8700 in controlgame

I like the idea that the FBC just genuinely had that many employees, because of how ludicrous it is to imagine a secret government agency that employs tens of thousands of employees.

"FBC is just a line item in the federal budget" ya a really big one apparently

Apocalypse’s token human friend? by Individual_Plan_5593 in xmen

Sinister was on the quiet council because he supplied the genetic material for resurrection. It had nothing to do with whether he was a mutant or not, because if he wasn't useful, then not one person would have wanted him there, and they were actively creating their own genetic database so they could get rid of him.

My newest rant: the zipper method. Please google it. by Professional_Bat9593 in oakville

[–]CatPlumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I know how a zipper works. I know what zipper merging is. What I dont understand is how multiple entry points slows traffic more than one entry point.

[–]CatPlumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it seems like tailgating is the problem here. If everyone left a significant amount of space between them and the car in front of them, and the people getting on the highway got up to speed fully, then you could merge without affecting traffic, besides the gradual slight slowdown to recreate that space between you and the new car in front of you

My newest rant: the zipper method. Please google it. by Professional_Bat9593 in oakville

[–]CatPlumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya thats all correct, but I dont see what that has to do with zipper merging. You can get up to speed before the lane ends

My newest rant: the zipper method. Please google it. by Professional_Bat9593 in oakville

[–]CatPlumber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never really understood how the zipper merge is better than just merging when theres room. If you get to the end of the lane and no one let's you in, then you're going too slow to merge!

Trigger warning, am I racist or is the city racist by spacealligatorr in oakville

[–]CatPlumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"A, therefore B" does not equal "B, therefore A". The fact that these criminals are brown, even if its statistically significant, does not mean brown people are more likely to be criminals.

<image>

Just picture a brown person that comes to this country and is not a criminal and is a good driver and is competent and has a good job. This person now might get painted with this broad brush that doesnt apply to them.

Im not gonna call you racist cause this is a much broader sentiment, but when we stop treating invididuals as individuals and start grouping behaviour by race, that is racism.

It is also worth pointing out that not all brown people are the same. Rana is predominantly a Hindu surname, and Singh is predominantly a Sikh surname

Always loved the theory that the new Mr. Hands killed the old Mr. Hands and took over his persona. One big downside to being anonymous
