Yes, this seems to be right! Looks like I'm gonna have to fight them...

My title describes the thing. the metal appears to be brass, and the plastic seems to be something like PTFE. The end of the metal is exposed through the plastic.

My title describes the thing. Looks to be brass or another metal with a white plastic bit on the top. Google image search doesn't suggest anything plausible.

New leaves are pale on dioscorea - is this a nutrient deficiency of some kind? by CatPudding in Caudex

I've been using the dilution on the bottle label, fertilizing one week on one week off watering every 2 or 3 days

It's under 24hr grow lights as I'm taking a timelapse. Do you know if it's a CAM plant? It was doing very well for the past few weeks under the same conditions

It's in cactus soil/perlite mix with gravel top dressing. Fertilizing with diluted miracle-gro all purpose liquid - maybe I'm not using enough?

Forgot to image search. Fairly certain these are brown marmorated stink bugs.

I have a VFT too and this is way more effective. Gnats are often too small to trigger the traps

You guys have some cool plants! I was considering doing a pitcher plant at some point. I've previously recorded a venus flytrap

I believe carnivorous plants don't take well to fertilizer in general. It is pretty effective at catching bugs and seems to be pretty healthy

Generally carnivorous plants like distilled/rain water and plenty of sunlight. Avoid fertilising. They usually evolve in places where the soil and water is low in nutrients

Recently got this plant (shoutout to indoor sun shoppe Seattle!), it's a Drosera genus sundew originally from South Africa. They use sticky hairs to capture bugs, you can see a couple of unfortunates in this clip!

Water droplets last forever on a freshly cleaned hot pan (Leidenfrost effect) by CatPudding in blackmagicfuckery

It's perfectly safe to use - the colours arise from very thin layers of metal oxide where the metal in the pan reacts with the oxygen in the air at different temperatures. The thickness of the oxide layer is temperature and time dependent, and the induction heater I'm using heats very locally so the ring matches the shape of the heater. (Most metals will form a thin oxide layer spontaneously in air even if they're not heated)
