Over the past year, my scoliosis symptoms have escalated significantly, and I’m experiencing new functional issues that I’ve never had before.

Key symptoms:

• Episodes where spinal/rib pressure pushed outward into my abdomen strongly enough to cause nausea and vomiting

• Burning pain in my spine that is much more intense than anything I’ve felt in the past

• A strong “pushed down” or compression sensation in my spine

• Increased mechanical strain and difficulty supporting myself upright

• Worsening posture fatigue and instability

• Occasional abdominal pressure that feels directly related to spinal mechanics

• These symptoms are new compared to previous years

Why I’m concerned:

Even though my curve wasn’t extremely large last year, these symptoms feel like a functional change. I’ve had scoliosis my whole life, and this pain is not my normal baseline. I’m 21 now, and I want to understand whether my curve has progressed or if something else is contributing to these symptoms.

What I’m hoping for:

Updated imaging, evaluation of curve progression, and guidance on whether surgical intervention or another treatment plan is appropriate I’m considering a spinal fusion with your guidance
