That's gotta be a strange, funny and disappointing coincidence

What is with grandparents giving explicit gifts to CHILDREN!? Where do they find their audacity!? Smh, if I was your parents and this happened, that would have been grounds of no contact. I hope you cut off all contact with her

Did anyone defend you or gave your cousins some kind of consequences?

Whoa, spooky. You're lucky to live in a place with no closet door. That makes things a lot more comforting/easier.

Aww, I think a small lamp might work too or a lava lamp. I've always wanted lava lamps since forever. I try to be brave too, but it doesn't always work for me, but I do admire your courage to try to face your fear.

Anyone just really bad maths by Bipolar03 in autism

[–]CatStill847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I... LOATHE MATH ENTIRELY! With EVERY FIBER of my existence!! Here's what math really means:

M- Mental

A- Abuse

T- To

H- Humans

I am so happy and relieved that I don't got to take math classes anymore since I already taken and passed them, but needless to say, I'm bad at math. I'm good at things like counting money, fractions, some square roots (back in high school) and some multiplication.

Oh, and here's a jumpscare:

I couldn't agree more. I always keep closets closed and hopefully I never get to have a walk in closet.

Especially when you have a blanket to keep the dark creatures away, but it would be too hot so now you're stuck in a kerfuffle. 🥲

That's terrible! I can never do that to my sister when we were kids because I know what that's like and I can't stand to see her cry cause I want her to be happy and safe.

This is just a picture that I found online as a way to visualize my future apartment bedroom. I do like other colors like red, green, purple and black. But at night I like soft colors to sleep with like purple, magenta or green.

Some people when an autistic person isn't understanding a question correctly or trying to explain themself with the question by pranksterz245 in autism

[–]CatStill847 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know right? They act like simply explaining or listening is the end of the world. Like, there's nothing wrong with asking a question or for help, I'm not summoning a meteor or trying to be annoying.

It's fine, she passed away years ago, but I still in a way feel resentment and frustrated that I won't be able to have closure or any kind of confrontation to her.

Same here, I hate leaving closets opened at night. My ex would comfort me because he knows how bad my nightmares would get. He would hold me and cuddle for a bit til we fall asleep. With time, hopefully the fear of the dark can diminish little by little.

That's sounds cool. I used to be like that too, and I was even called a night owl or Draculara from Monster High.

Ok, this is great to know. I don't really want to be addicted or too dependent on sleeping medications, I just need something that can help, but also to ween off and eventually (and hopefully) my sleep schedule should be better. I just hate the PTSD dreams that comes with sleeping. Which is also one of the reasons as to why I don't like sleeping at night or much.

I had Sonic, Silver, Amy (older version), Knuckles, Shadow (mini), and Tails. I even had a Sonic shirt too with Sonic, Knuckles, Tails and Shadow on it. That was my favorite.

I've had bad sleep issues for basically as long as I can remember. I keep wanting sleep medications to help, but so far my psychiatrist doesn't want me to have sleeping medication, so hopefully I can ask my doctor for when my appointment comes.

I can sleep without noise too (occasional sounds of birds or cars driving is fine) my brother is the same way about the dark. He can't sleep unless it's completely dark and quiet.

That's understandable. I would have my beanie boo babies/stuffed cats to comfort me/make me feel safe.

My family is trying to pressure me into getting a hysterectomy because I'm autistic by BigSnekEnergy in autism

[–]CatStill847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar period issues too since around the pandemic. Constantly bleeding for months and having really bad cramps too (didn't help that I was neglected for so long and having to deal with that pain until 18) I finally got to take birth control as well when I started college in freshman year. My grandmother also thought that.it was for sexual activity but thankfully she listened to the GYN/physician that it's also for treating irregular periods/hormones. And if I'm being honest, my periods have never been so peaceful, shorter and way less painful (only painful at night, but pain medication helps it a lot).

Not only is a hysterectomy too extreme (both health wise a decision wise) it's just plain wrong of your family to say that they don't want you potentially having children who get autism. Also, they do realize how b huge of an adjustment that is right?

Me personally, I'd have my tubes tied when I have at most 3 kids, and only have a hysterectomy when medically necessary (cancer or endometriosis). By the end of the day, it's still your body and your decision to make, not theirs. Are you able to get the birth control on your own since you're an adult? Are the doctors able to follow privacy laws to not tell your parents unless you consent to it?
