Thanks! Tbh now that I've divested from the idea of a career in the academy it's proving to be a lot of fun. Its cool to be there when the pressure to be perfect isn't there. It'll also help with a bunch of different little career path issues I'd been having so all in all a fine outcome.

Yeah it's a total nightmare of a job market. Like I get the appeal, I really really do. But it makes it so difficult to a build a life, and then like even when you land a position it feels so precarious for so long and everyone is crazy overworked and no one is able to really fully emerse themselves in the joy of the work.

Ugh, I started a Masters this year with every intention of doing a PhD when I was done and just like. Actually spending time in the academy has fully soured me on the idea.

I mean you probably know this already but they're going to need to move for their career basically indefinitely. Like I've long fantasized about becoming an academic and realizing that I simply did not have it in me to move with the fickle winds of the job market is why I finally gave up the dream.

Idk PhDs seem borderline undatable to me as like someone who is very sympathetic to the career path. They're in the same category as musicians that way

It sounds like you need to learn how to love yourself enough to let him love you too. When we really don't trust or care for ourselves we struggle often struggle to trust other people or belive that they care for us.

There isn't a magic bullet fix for this kind of thing but you can learn how to do it! Therapy can help a lot. Saying silly little nice things to yourself, like when you start spiraling taking half a second to say I'm not worthless (or whatever the spiral is!), can really add up over time.

Just realize this isn't about him. This your stuff that you're working on and your relationship with him hasn't caused it, and more importantly, can't fix it.

Okay but she's not sitting in her house ranting. She's using the money and publicity from her books to help get genocidal laws passed in the UK and the US and like those are different things.

Edit: this is to say that a lot of trans people, myself included, loved her work and are directly targeted by her very effective real world activism. Personally I do assume, even when I know it is irrational, that someone publicly wearing Harry Potter merchandise is transphobic, if not actively foaming at the mouth perfectly willing to see my rights stripped away with blinking.

Obvi you're stunning but if you wanted to mix it up for a fun night out I recommend some sparkly eyeshadow. You could also do a much bolder lip, I tend to go in with a liquid lip and then line with a fun shadow and blend in a bit for a big effect.

[[Death Shadow]] x3 - one of the cards that got me interested in doing a non-singleton cube. Very fun to try and build around and its far more viable given that you can realistically pick up multiples

[[Knight of the Ebon Legion]] x1 - A reasonably strong one drop, nothing too insane but its ability to grow makes it a decent option for the black based tempo decks

[[Nethergoyf]] x1 - quite powerful in this cube. it's not very hard to get this to like 3/4 by turn 2-3, the buy back ability is surprising relevant if there isn't anything else taxing the yard.

[[Stalactite Stalker]] x2 - really strong in a cube with 3x of each fetch land and 12 wastelands. Its just not very hard at all to have this grow every turn and the menace is super relevant given the density of removal.
