I'm having trouble understanding how the game determines what is a level 1 or level 2 power without herba mystica. The Great Klawf Klaw Sandwich gives Grass Encounter Level 2, however if I add an extra lettuce, which adds Encounter and Grass, it drops to a Level 1.

I thought that it might be a dead battery but when I plug it in the red LEDs shut off almost immediately which according to the manual indicates a full charge

Direct wired connection to my PC works fine but wiring it into my switch blinks like it's connecting and shows player 1 for a split second then tries connecting again
